How to get many different shades of foundation without splurging tons of money?
If keeping up with the change of your face colour in between seasons is difficult for you…If you love getting a tan in the summer and you stay “super pale” during the winter season and it’s getting too expensive to buy new shades of foundation all the time, then I have a solution for you.
You need to own only two foundation colours, first one is the palest foundation that you will wear during the winter time and the second one is darker shade – buy one tube of foundation which is created for dark skin tones. It’s better if both foundations come from the same brand and have the same consistency, so that they can be perfectly blended together.
So, when your skin tone becomes darker (when you get a tan), mix your ordinary pale “white” foundation with one or two drops of your darker one, blend it well on the back of your hand till it matches your current skin tone and apply it on your face.
This way the colour of your foundation can vary, depending on how much tan you get, and this, without buying new shades of foundation all the time.
You can also use these two foundation colours to contour your face. Just apply lighter colour of foundation in the middle of your face and the darker tone – on the outer edges, so that your face will look slimmer and well contoured. Be light handed while contouring and blend the product extremely well, so that no strokes or harsh lines are visible.
I hope you found this tip useful.
