Here Is How To Get Amazing Abs If You’re A Girl
Once upon a time, getting great abs was gender specific. Kinda like getting full-time employment and getting a chance to vote. I can still remember the time when my mom returned from the gym for the first ever time and wearily explained to us that it was populated by 95% guys. Back then, it was only men who were interested in getting rock hard, well-sculpted abs.
These days, though, girls as well as boys can get the perfect abs. And many of us are trying ever so hard to do just that. I say trying because for a lot of us, getting the ideal midsection right is not easy. In general, girls have to work harder than men to get rock hard abs. The good news, though, is not it is not impossible. You just need to know the best diet tips, as well as the right moves. So let’s take a look at how to get amazing abs if you’re a girl.
American’s love soda. Each year, it is estimated that the average American gets through over 44 gallons of soda. That’s a lot, but it wouldn’t be so bad if soda was actually good you – but it isn’t. No way.
In fact, just one bottle of soda is loaded with a staggering 250 calories, as well as a heap of sugar. The worst thing is that these are empty calories that add nothing essential to your body, but which instead can make you fat.
If you drink a lot of soda, cut it right out of your diet and swap it for a healthier alternative, such as fruit juice or water.
Avoid Fast Food
As well as drinking soda, lots of us like to eat lots of fast food. Fast food is both convenient and addictive, and it’s also inexpensive.
But it’s also really bad for you, and won’t help you get amazing abs.
Fat food is stuffed with calories, most of them from fat. Just on single fast food value meal potentially contains all your daily recommended amount of calories. That’s an insane reality. Basically, if you want great abs, you have to avoid fast food.
Do The Plank Exercise
The plank exercise is easily the best exercise you can do for defined abs that look amazing.
To do this exercise, start by getting down into the prone position. In this position, the only parts of your body touching the floor are your forearms and the tips of your toes. Making sure that your weight is well supported by your forearms and toes, and keeping your body is straight as possible, you need to hold your position for basically as long as you can manage. It could be a minute, but it could be longer.
You can enhance this exercise by lifting an arm or a leg. You could wear a weighted vest (you can thank or hate me later!).
Get Your Five A Day
You’ve probably been told that you should get your “five a day” right? This means you should eat five servings of fruit and veg each day to stay healthy. But it’s all a fad, right? A pure gimmick.
Actually, it isn’t. And not only will five servings of fruit and veg each day optimise your health, it will also help you to get killer abs.
Five servings of fruit will give a massive boost of energy, which is good for working out for longer. Moreover, five servings will also prevent constant pangs of hunger, which will prevent you from snacking on all the wrong food types.
Swap Coffee For Water
Many of us drink coffee, especially in the morning before work. It helps to wake us up and gets us in the mood for work. Nothing wrong with that, right?
The problem is is that caffeine is a diuretic. What this means is that it causes you to urinate more than you normally would (exactly like beer). And the more water your body loses, the harder it works to retain whatever is left.
Unfortunately, it retains it in your gut, creating what we can call a “coffee belly” (or beer belly).
Water is the best way to stay dehydrated, and it definitely won’t make you fat!
There’s No Need To Starve Yourself
Lots of girls are under the very false impression that they have to starve themselves in order to get great abs. Apparently, this idea kinda makes sense.
It doesn’t – and it’s totally misguided.
You’re not simply trying to lose weight here – you’re also trying to build lean muscle. And you just cannot do this without the right amount of macronutrients each day, which means proteins, carbs and fats.
Starving yourself will only result in flab.
Lift Your Own Body Weight
To life your own body weight, take a pair of chairs that have the same height, before resting both of your forearms on them. Then, slowly lift each leg off the floor before lowering them again. And repeat.
Eat Lots Of Fibre
It’s impossible to enjoy a good workout session if you feel weak and devoid of energy. Impossible. Fibre is a great way of making sure you feel full for longer, and it also comes with lots of other health benefits too.
Fibre is found in an array of food produce, including bread, but importantly it’s found in oatmeal. A bowl of oatmeal is a great way to kickstart your day, giving you the necessary energy to enjoy an early morning workout session.
Blame It On Genetics …
Finally, if you’ve exhausted all of the above tips and more and STILL can’t get killer abs, you might have to blame your parents. Genetics plays a big role in determining how we look and what type of body we have, and sometimes it seems impossible to overcome this level of determinism. If this is so for you, celebrate who you are and remember that your abdominal muscles are strong – it’s just a shame that you can’t actually see them!
Stay happy and healthy!
