10 Signs That He Is A Man Worth Marrying

Going on a first date with someone is not exactly something you should take lightly, but neither should you think about it too much. After all, what is the worse that could happen?

Marriage, though, is something you should think about a lot before taking the plunge. A marriage is meant to last for ever, and it requires a huge commitment between two people to make it work. When you get married, you need to work as a team on things such as finance, budgeting, household chores, family, careers and so on.

If you’ve reached the stage in your relationship where you’re seriously thinking this guy might be the one you marry, let’s take a look at the 10 key signs that he is a man definitely worth marrying.

He Likes To Listen More Than He Likes To Talk

Is there anything worse in a relationship than a man who literally never stops talking about himself? Perhaps. But a self-obsessed guy who prefers to tell you how his day went rather than ask how your day was is not a keeper.

Rather, a man who is only too pleased to ask you questions and who takes a great interest in your day is the ideal guy. This is a man who is going to listen to all your problems, and he’ll never get bored or check his watch. If you want someone to wake up and talk to in the middle of the night, he’s your guy.

He Cooks!

There are few things worse in a marriage than you having to do all the cooking. Each night, when your both return home from work, your husband expects you to head straight into the kitchen and conjure up a dish to fill his appetite. After all, he’s been “working all day”!

But then, so have you.

In a marriage, it’s only fair that your husband offers to cook, too. Rather than alternate meals between your cooking and take-aways, your ideal husband should be prepared to get his hands dirty in the kitchen.

And, no, cereal is not a cooked meal!

He Cuddles You!

What do you want most from your husband after a long, stressful day at work? A surprise vacation to Hawaii? (Well, yes, maybe). But, no; the one thing you want most is a good cuddle. You want your husband to wrap his loving arms around you and tell you that everything is okay. You want him to bring you close to his chest, to kiss you, and to make you feel wanted, warm, and loved.

If your man does this, he is definitely marriage material.

He Likes Your Friends And Family

Marriage is for life, and for this reason it’s absolutely vital that your husband gets along with your friends and family. If your boyfriend isn’t currently liked by those closest to you, it probably isn’t going to get any better. And if he hasn’t even made any kind of attempt to improve relations, he’s not going to make any attempts once you’re married.

If, however, your man is willing to go the extra mile to ingratiate himself with your friends and family, he’s definitely a keeper. If he drives them to the airport, hangs out with your friends, and makes Christmas lunch for your mom, he’s a winner. We love him!

He Is Honest And Tells You Everything

Another one of important qualities of a good husband is honesty.

Does your boyfriend tell you everything? Is he open and forthright with you? Does he admit to where he’s been when you ask him? Is he okay with you taking hold of his phone and going through it? Does he not mind you logging into his Facebook page?

If you answered yes to all of these, your man is definitely worth marrying.

If you answered no, you probably should think again. It sounds like he may be hiding something.

He Makes You Laugh

The last thing you want from marriage is 60+ years of misery, grumping and seriousness. But if your boyfriend isn’t humorous and sullen, this is what you’re probably going to get.

Indeed, one of the key personality traits you ideally want from your husband is humour. A man who can lift your spirits when you’re feeling blue, tickling your emotions and getting you to laugh out loud is an amazing man. If your husband is a barrel of laughs who makes you smile each and every day, you should marry him now. Seriously, stop reading this and go and marry him. Now.

He Has Similar Future Plans As Yours

Yours and your fiancé’s future goals simply have to match. If they don’t, you’re going to struggle to survive the first year, let alone for ever.

Ask yourself whether his plans align with yours. Do you both want children? What kind of financial situation will you be happy with in 5 years’ time? When do you want to buy your own house? Do you want to spend some time traveling or do you want to settle down as soon as possible? These are all fundamental questions.

He Makes Sacrifices For You

Whenever we enter into a relationship with someone, there are always a few things about them and their lifestyle that we’d like to tweak. Perhaps we want them to cut down on their drinking, their smoking, their Xbox addiction and so on.

If your boyfriend is willing to make sacrifices for you and make alterations to his lifestyle, it means he’s a keeper. Anyone who loves you will want to do whatever they can to make the relationship work, and if this means cutting back on a few things, then so be it.

He Remembers The Little Things

If your boy remembers the little things, such as the date of your anniversary and your birthday, (these can be little things to guys), he’s definitely the one for you. Not many men remember these dates, but when they do it feels amazing.

He Plans Surprises

But the absolute number 1 sign that he is a man worth marrying? He plans surprises for you.

Stay happy!
