10 Romantic, cute and fun anniversary date ideas
There’s nothing wrong with dinner and a movie on your anniversary, but there are more memorable things that you can do and it doesn’t have to be very expensive, either. To help you create a special night to remember, here are ten ideas for a romantic and fun date to celebrate your next anniversary:
1. Do something that he loves, but you’d rather not do!
Make a sacrifice, give him a treat that he will love, and hope that he will return the favour next year! Take him to the big game or to see his favourite band, even if you can’t stand them, that’ll show how much you love him! Just be sure you don’t complain all the way through it though and try to look like you’re enjoying it!
2. Recreate your first ever date
Take a trip down memory lane and recreate your very first date together. It can be great fun, returning to old haunts, and it will get you both reminiscing about those days when you first fell in love.
3. Have a home movie marathon
You don’t have to go out to have fun; it can be just as romantic at home. Go out separately and get three movies each that you think your partner will love and spend a weekend watching them. Unplug the phone and switch off the computers and just spend some quiet time together.
4. Renew your wedding vows
You can get married all over again by renewing your vows. Public with all your friends and family or just a private affair for two, it’s a lovely, romantic way to reaffirm your love for one another.
5. Create your own photo album of your love
You probably didn’t carry a camera with you when you first met, they might not even have had cameras in mobile phones then. Take a camera and spend a day retracing your steps of the past, this time taking photos as you go. Visit the place that you first met, the church where you married, and the first restaurant you had a romantic dinner in and document your journey for your own personal album.
6. Take a dream vacation
If it’s a really big anniversary milestone, then make it super special by booking a dream holiday together. Splash out on a cruise to faraway lands or hit the open road for an unplanned road trip. Sharing an adventure together is the perfect way to celebrate an anniversary.
7. Go dancing
When was the last time you danced the night away, cheek to cheek, like you did on your wedding day? Find a hotel that holds dinner dance nights, and book in for the night. Fine food, followed by romantic dancing and then it’s just a short trip up to bed – a really romantic anniversary date!
8. Go on a camping trip
Slightly less up-market than a dinner dance weekend, but romantic nonetheless. Spend a night out in the open, gazing up at the stars, and then snuggle up together in your sleeping bags for the night.
9. Spend the day at a theme park
Take the big roller coaster rides and enjoy being kids again at a theme park. Many people forget all about theme parks, when they get a bit older, but they are not just fun for the kids and many theme parks have hotels on site, so you can stay the night too.
10. A night at the theatre
If you’re both into the performing arts then a night at the theatre would make a lovely anniversary date. Try something new, like opera or ballet, you might be surprised at what you find.
