HOW TO GET RID OF DARK UNDERARMS? TOP 9 NATURAL HOME REMEDIES

How to get rid of dark underarms? Top 9 natural dark underarms home remedies:

If you have a dark underarms area, then there’s no need to worry. It’s very unlikely to be a symptom of any medical condition. Dark underarms are usually caused by clogged pores or darkening of the skin, very similar to that which occurs from excessive sun exposure. Dark underarms also can be caused by a range of things, including shaving, hair removal creams, excess sweating and alcohol based deodorants. In rare cases, it can be the sign of a medical condition known as acanthosis nigricans, for which treatment may be required; otherwise, these simple and natural home remedies will work their magic:

Potato

Potato is mildly acidic and acts as a natural bleaching agent. Regular scrubbing your underarms with a thin slice of potato and washing off with lukewarm water will gradually reduce the darkening of the skin.

Cucumber

Cucumber has mild bleaching properties too, so rubbing your underarms each day with a cucumber slice (while in the shower) will not only lighten the skin, but it’s soothing too.

Lemon

The acidity of a lemon will lighten dark underarms area and exfoliate your skin, removing the dead cells from skin surface. Rub your underarms with a lemon slice, wait for couple of minutes, then wash off. Because lemon has a high acidity though, be sure to moisturise afterwards or it may create dry skin or irritation.

Vinegar

Mix vinegar with some rice flour and apply this paste on your dark underarms, let the paste sit on your skin for about 10 minutes and then, wash off. The vinegar will lighten the skin and its antibacterial properties will kill the bacteria responsible for causing odour as well.

Yoghurt

Plain yoghurt is another product from your kitchen that can help lighten dark underarms. Apply it daily while in the shower, let it sit on your skin for couple of minutes, then rinse; you will see the difference quickly, as the yoghurt lightens, nourishes and exfoliates your skin. If you don’t have yoghurt, try applying curd or milk mixed with a little bit of rice flour, these work good as well.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil’s high vitamin E content makes it an ideal skin treatment. Lightly massage the affected dark underarm area with coconut oil for about 5 minutes, before showering and washing it off. It will lighten the skin and act as a natural deodorant. You can also mix coconut oil with brown sugar and massage your underarms with it for couple of minutes while in the shower, then rinse.

Honey

It sounds like a bit of a sticky solution, but honey is well known for its soothing, antibacterial and lightening properties. Spread a small amount of honey under your arms, allow it to dry (it takes about 5 minutes) and then, wash off with warm water. Repeat daily and you will start to see the difference. You can also mix honey with a little bit of yoghurt or milk and massage your underarms with this yummy treatment while in the shower, it will also help lighten the skin.

Baking soda

Baking soda also can help you lighten your dark underarms; just mix baking soda with a little bit of water and scrub your underarms with this natural home remedy. This treatment will unclog pores and remove dead cells accumulated in your underarm.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera also can be used as natural home remedy for dark underarms. Just massage Aloe Vera gel under your arms, wait for 5-10 minutes, then rinse. Aloe Vera gel will gently exfoliate, nourish and soften your skin.

And finally, I’d also recommend to check with your doctor, as dark underarms can be sometimes caused by certain medical conditions, so it’s better to treat the problem as quickly as possible.
