What Is The Law Of Attraction And How To Use It To Improve Your Life?
If you’ve read any self-help books, watched any motivational conferences, or spoken to a psychologist in recent years, you’ll no doubt have heard of the phrase “Law of Attraction.”
It’s certainly been bandied around a lot, but what does it mean? And does it really work?
The Law of Attraction is actually really simple: You attract whatever you think about, whether really bad – or really good.
Oprah Winfrey is one devotee of the law, and even based an entire episode of her show around it to demonstrate how it can be used to change peoples’ lives for the better.
To some people, though, the Law of Attraction sounds way too mystical and relies too heavily on the power of the universe. They ask whether there is really any truth to it? Well, actually science has looked into positive thinking and its effects on us – and it suggests there is some truth to it.
If you’re a little bit more curious and want to know how the Law of Attraction can affect your life for the better, here are ways in which it can improve your lot.
Good Thoughts Attract Good Experiences
Tony Robbins talked a lot about this in his book Ultimate Power. Basically, if you think and talk about goodness, good things will happen to you.
If, however, you think and talk about bad stuff all the time, bad stuff will inevitably happen to you.
We can either choose to swim in the realm of positivity or negativity. If you go through life with a “can do” attitude, you are far likely to succeed in attracting friendlier people to you, landing your preferred job, and living the life you want.
If, conversely, you go through life swimming against the tide and picturing tsunami’s coming at you all the time, your life will reflect your thoughts. You’ll be miserable and unable to achieve anything you really want.
The More You Think About Something, The More Powerful It Grows
Have you ever magnified a problem by dwelling on it too much? We all have at some point.
Hypochondriacs will focus on a slight headache until it becomes something so big that they worry they have a brain tumour, and for a few weeks it takes over their life.
We can do the same with positive thoughts. The more we focus on something positive – such as an upcoming travel trip – the more it will dominate our lives for the better.
If You Shift Your Focus, You Can Change What You Experience
You attract the things you spend most of your time dwelling on. As such, have you ever thought it possible to cut negativity out of your life by deliberately switching your focus to something else? This is totally possible to do.
For example, I used to be the kind of person who always said I couldn’t do things. If someone asked me to find them the salt shaker in their kitchen, I would instantly say “I won’t be able to find it.” Straight away I’d given my brain the message not to even bother. As such, I wouldn’t find the salt, no matter how hard I tried, because I’d already told my brain it was not possible.
Change the way you think and what you assume is possible.
You Can Use The Law Of Attraction To Get Closer To Success
It’s time to adopt a “can do” attitude. Such an attitude will help you to get closer to your goals by ensuring your mind and body is ready.
Whatever you want, picture it, envision it, focus on it, sleep about it – and you will move one step closer to it all the time.
Sure, success requires hard work and determination, but everything starts with a thought. If you can envision success rather than failure, you have a much better chance of achieving it.
You’ll Forget About Past Mistakes
I used to be the kind of person who would dwell on my past mistakes. I’d think about my errors a lot, and it restricted me from moving forward.
Dwelling on your past mistakes means that you aren’t focusing on the present – and you aren’t being productive.
You can’t change your past. All you can do is live in the moment and make a success of it. Work hard today and cultivate happy thoughts for the future. This will help you to improve your productivity and achieve results.
You Don’t Need To Work Too Hard At It
Nourishing the law of attraction and making it work for you actually doesn’t take too much hard work. In fact, all you need to do is dedicate around fifteen minutes each day to calmly focusing on your goals and envisioning what you need to do to succeed.
Fifteen minutes – that’s it! You can spend more time if you want, but 15 minutes should be the maximum. No major sacrifices are needed, nor do you need to expend lots of energy. You don’t even need to leave the house!
Maintain A Worry List
Everyone worries at some point about something, but some of us certainly worry more than others. It’s natural to worry.
Maintain a worry list for a month. As soon as you feel yourself worrying about something, pen it down. This will help you to release the negativity energy that has been building up inside you and keeping you stuck.
At the end of the month, read through your worry list and recognise that none of your worries were actually justified.
Shake The Negativity Out
Lastly, a good way to release negative energy from our body is by moving our body. Negative emotions are stored away inside us on a cellular level, and they need shaking out.
Moving is a great way to release negativity and stress. You don’t have to move intensely; you could just take a walk, join a zumba class, or go dancing at night.
