10 Fabulous Tips On How To Find Inner Peace

It’s 2015 and many of us are more stressed than ever before. When you were teenager, life seemed so easy and carefree. Responsibilities were at a minimum, and if you needed to remind yourself to do something, you simply had to just write a memo on the back of your hand.

Nowadays, you have so many tasks to complete that not only is the back of your hand not adequate anymore, but even a to-do list isn’t enough; instead, you need a whole spreadsheet to keep up with the demands on your health, diet, social life, work life, hobbies, finances and so on!

Finding inner peace throughout life’s complications can be really tough. When we do finally find some down time, it seems that there are still some distractions to steel our attention: emails, texts and phone calls. Everything always happens at once!

So how do we create inner peace? Let’s take a look.

Don’t Try To Change What Cannot Be Changed

The famous Belgian philosopher Descartes was the dude responsible for the killer line, “I think, therefore I am.” But he was also responsible for telling us to never dream for what is totally unattainable. It’s just a pointless waste of time.

Likewise, another great tip on how to find inner peace is to learn to accept certain things for what they are. There are some things that are beyond your control; getting worked up about them and stressing yourself out is not cool. It’s counter productive. For example, if the bad weather has ruined your plans, you should try not to get stressed about this. You cannot alter the bad weather; just accept it and make new plans while rescheduling your old ones.

Be At One With Nature

The American comedian Woody Allen loved nature so much that he tried to be at two with nature. But you only really need to be at “one” with nature to experience inner peace!

Let’s face it, we spend most of our time in confined buildings. Steel walls, concreted bricks are the order of the day. Drab greys, blacks and browns are the colours we face almost 24/7. Not only this, but we have to spend our days cooped up in an office with fellow co-workers are hellbent on sharing pictures of their children with us and relating their wild nights out to us. It’s time to escape the rat race and spend some peace and quiet with nature.

Smile!

When we feel stressed, we look stressed.

Think about it like this: when you have a hangover, people tell you how bad you feel.

But being hungover and stressed is 50% mental. You are what you feel, and what you feel is often what you feel emotionally.

If you smile more, you feel feel a lot happier. Smiling is totally free, and it’s often the first step to inner peace. If you come up against an obstacle, laugh about it now rather than later. Another good tip on how to find inner peace is to be more carefree and easygoing. Don’t take things so seriously, but brush them off with a grin. Try it!

Listen To Your Favourite Music

This is another good tip on how to find inner peace. It really doesn’t matter what genre it is, music always relaxes us and helps us to find our inner peace if we enjoy it. It could be rock n roll, death metal, classical music, or rhythm and blues. If you enjoy it, listening to music will take your mind of stressful things. It will relax you and take you to a place of imagination and nostalgia. It will take you to a place of joy and tranquillity.

See A Doctor

One of the reasons we find it hard to calm down and find inner peace is because we worry about our health.

If any niggling health issues are weighing on your mind, go to a doctor and get it confirmed that you are actuality 100% healthy and amazing. You’ll feel so much better.

Go For A Bike Ride

Getting away from things is another great tip on how to find inner peace. But sometimes it’s really important how you get away from things.

For example, if you get behind the wheel of your car, you might get struck in traffic which will not help your mood.

Likewise, if you decide to jump on a train, you might be met with delays.

For this reason, we suggest that you get on your bike and enjoy the freedom that cycling give you. Free to roam around the country, you can literally ride anywhere you want. Remember to pack a lunch, though!

Get Rid Of Clutter

Home organisation is a great way to find inner peace. A cluttered home often creates a cluttered mind. If you sense that all your “stuff” is weighing you down mentally, de-cluttering your home could be the best thing you’ve done all year.

You could combine clearing up your home with either a garage sale, or you could donate all your excess stuff to a local charity shop. Then you can experience the taste of freedom!

Get A Good Night Sleep

A good night sleep usually means going to bed earlier than you do now. Too many people underestimate the importance of a good night sleep. They assume that five or six hours is more than enough; after all, sleep is for the weak!

But lack of sleep makes us weak; it makes us grumpy, weary, and it makes us irritable.

More than anything, it makes us stressed.

Getting at least eight hours a night is important and it’s another good tip on how to find inner peace. You will wake up feeling happier and ready to seize the day. And even if it takes you a little time to sleep, use this time to reflect back on your day. Enjoy your thoughts.

Be Grateful For What You Have

Stress often makes us forget the great things we have. Rather than focus on the things that make us happy, we focus on the things that are making us stressed.

It’s time to be thankful for what you have. Whether you have children, a nice car, your own house, great friends, awesome family, books, laptops, wealth, health and so on, be happy for it all. Embrace it.

Tell The Truth

Honesty really is the best policy when it comes to inner peace.

After all, would you rather be weighed down by guilty thoughts that press on your mind, making you stressed?

Or would you rather be happy knowing that you’ve got nothing to hide?
