10 Reasons why giving time to your passion is important

Everyone can gain from following their passion and, if you can make your passion pay, then that is even better! So, whether you want your passion to become a full time occupation or simply a part time hobby, here are ten reasons why following your passion is so very important:

1. It is more important than money

Sadly, money does make the world go round, and we all have to earn living somehow. If you are in a job you hate and you get a chance to get paid for your passion, then jump at that chance and your life will be far more fulfilling. If that is not possible, then make sure that you leave enough spare time to do the things that you love.

2. It won’t feel like a chore

Even when your passion involves hard work, it won’t feel like it. When you are enjoying what you are doing, time passes more quickly and the sense of satisfaction that you will gain will make all the effort worthwhile.

3. It will boost your confidence

When you give your all to your passion, it will give you a huge boost of self-confidence. Following a dream, and achieving it, is something that you will be able to be really proud about.

4. It will be something that you want to do

We do enough things because we have to, so here’s your chance to do something that you want to do for a change. Many of us work, just because we need the money, but when you work on your passion, it’s because that is your choice.

5. It will make you stronger

It might be exhausting, but you will definitely give your passion everything that you have. It will teach you how to overcome difficulties and how to go the extra mile, because, when you are truly passionate about something, nothing will stand on your way.

6. You will want to get up in the mornings

Being passionate about something gives you a reason to get up early and go to bed late. Even if you can’t follow your passion every day of the week, at least, you know that it’s only a few days before the weekend, and then you can.

7. It teaches you to be more self-disciplined

When something ceases to be a chore and it becomes a passion instead, then you will be far more motivated to succeed. When you are doing a job that you hate, you just want the day to end, but when you are following your passion, you want to get the job done, so you will become more efficient and self-disciplined.

8. Life is too short not to follow your passion

Life is far too short to spend it all doing things that you hate. It’s important that you spend your time doing the things that you love and the things that you care about. If you don’t, you may well regret it later.

9. We spend too much time just working for money

For most of us, we spend much of our lives working, so if you can make your job something that you really enjoy, then you are spending that time in a far more satisfying way. If all we do is work to make ends meet, and little else in between, then life can become a really mundane affair.

10. Because you can!

Don’t spend your life, saying ‘if only’ or ‘I wish’, make a plan, today, of how you are going to follow your passion. If you want to change your career, then do it! You may have to take risks, you may have to go to evening classes, but the end result of truly being happy will be well worth the effort.

Stay happy!
