Today we bring to your attention some really important (and sometimes unnoticeable) habits that can lead to overeating and hinder weight loss.
1) Do you consider it polite to eat everything in your plate?
When you go to your friends’ place, of course they want to give you the best and feed you till don’t have any space left in your stomach. Yes, hospitality is a great quality, but sometimes you need to say ‘no’ to the big portion, you can just politely and jokingly say that you are taking care of your figure. Because, if you make it a habit, to eat huge quantities of food just to be polite, you can gain many kilos with no reason.
2) Do you eat in a hurry?
Do you often eat right on your working place without taking a real break and even without stopping working?
The best thing is to go out to eat to a place especially made for this purpose (café, restaurant…), because if you eat while doing other things – you hardly can notice and enjoy the food, as well as the amount of what you ate.
3) Do you eat when you are in a bad mood?
This habit is very common, especially for girls. I also had this kind of attitude before, I thought that chocolate, ice cream and sweets can, kind of, boost my mood and make me feel better, but this can only lead to overeating, heavy stomach and regrets. If you are in a bad mood – put on a great joyful song and dance, or start painting again, but never look for consolation in the fridge.
4) Sweet drinks.
A lot of people drink a glass of coke, lemonade or another sweet drink while eating. One glass of soda, for example, contains from 4 to 7 tea spoons of sugar. Do you ever drink a cup of coffee with 7 spoons of sugar? No.
What about a glass of fruit juice? (from a bottle, not freshly squeezed). The funny thing is that fruit juice contains exactly the same amount of sugar as soda.
That’s why, I would recommend to drink just pure water everyday and, if you want a fruit juice, eat a fresh fruit instead.
5) To eat in front of a TV.
If you eat while watching the TV, you aren’t really thinking about food at all, that’s why your body doesn’t send you the signal that you are full, this way you can eat a lot more that you can notice.
6) Wearing loose clothing.
If your wardrobe is filled with lose dresses, with no shape, then it’s easy to let go your figure, hided underneath the layers of shapeless clothes. This type of clothing can really hide everything and make you forget your goals of being fit.
In order to gain slimmer shape, try to wear elegant and cute underwear and skinny clothes which will underline your figure. This way you will notice when you started to over eat and will keep yourself in a good balance.
7) If you eat once a day…
This won’t help you to stay in shape.
Some people, when they don’t feel hungry in the morning – try to skip breakfast and keep themselves in a starving mode for a long time during the day, thinking that this way they will lose weight, which is an absolute mistake. This way your organism will be under a stress and will absorb every calorie that you will ever eat. This is why so many people say: ‘I don’t eat and I gain weight.’ Here is the paradox, in order to lose weight – you need to eat.
Our body needs energy since the morning and in order to stay in a great and healthy shape, it’s better to eat smaller portions but more often. I, personally, eat about 6 times a day, but my portions are smaller than average, so that my body receives everything it needs and my metabolism is great too.
