Rosacea is a skin condition that causes redness in the face and that can be quite painful as well. The condition often occurs in menopausal women and it can come and go, but the precise causes of rosacea are not known.  It can be aggravated by heat, eating spicy foods and it will be made worse if you mistake it for acne and use strong acne creams and lotions on the affected area of skin. 1. Green tea

Applying green tea directly to the skin will calm the inflammation of rosacea fast. Green tea has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin as well as other properties that will help to soothe irritated skin. The best way to use green teas to treat rosacea is to make a cup of tea with some tea bags, drink the tea while the tea bags cool down, and then apply the cool bags as a compress to your face.

2. Oatmeal

Oatmeal has some superb skin nourishing properties and it will also soothe the skin and stop some of the itching too. Mix some oatmeal with warm water and leave it to soak for a while.  Then, apply the oatmeal to your face and leave it to sit for about twenty minutes. It will soothe some of the redness and help the skin heal.

3. Liquorice

Liquorice has very powerful anti-inflammatory properties and, according to study conducted in 2005, it can be very effective at reducing the redness of rosacea and soothing the irritation that the condition causes. Mix a teaspoon of liquorice powder with a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and a teaspoon of honey. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for about fifteen minutes.

Chamomile is a very popular home remedy for rosacea that many people say works really well. It is very soothing on the skin and it has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Make some chamomile tea and then leave it to cool in the refrigerator. Dip a clean cloth into the cool tea and hold it to the affected area of skin. It will ease the pain, fight any infection, and reduce the redness.
