Acne scars don’t have to be permanent, no matter what your cheeky friend keeps telling you. Getting rid of them is easier than you thought. You just need to know how. Here are 9 must-know tips on ow to get rid of an acne scars problem.

I’m guessing that your mom told you how amazing bleach is for clearing up stains when you were a kid. My mom certainly loved telling me. “Bleach is the best thing ever,” she would say.

You can’t really splash bleach on your face – it’s a bit dangerous! But what you can do is use the next best thing to clear up your acne. And the next best thing is a lemon.

Lemons rich in natural bleach, and are often used to eliminate skin redness and scars that are causing you so much trouble. And because they’re rich in vitamin C, they restore collagen to your skin so that your face is as elastic as it used to be. Fabulous.

Admit it – you knew that honey was going to be on this list. I think most people like honey, though I have met one or two that say the taste repulses them. For the purpose of clearing up acne scars, you don’t need to taste it – just wear it as a face mask.

Honey is used to treat so many skin problems, and acne scars are one of them. All you need to do is apply honey topically on your face for about 20 min, before washing it off with lukewarm water. For even more effective results, you could mix it with a pinch of cinnamon powder and leave it just an hour or two. It’s up to you.

Mixing honey with yogurt or milk works well, too.

Egg Whites

Wherever there is honey, there is usually egg whites, too.

Egg whites can be used to treat many skin complaints, and they’re really effective at clearing up unsightly acne scars. Full of amino acids and proteins, they’re like nature’s medical kit.

Make yourself an egg white mask, apply to your face, rinse off after 20 minutes and enjoy the results of it’s lifting effect. It can help fade scars if you use it regularly.

Tomatoes are a delicious fruit that can be prepared in so many ways. You can turn them into a sauce, make them the star attraction of a soup, add them to sandwiches, toasties and salads, bake them and eat them with your fried breakfast … the possibilities are endless!

And if you’re looking to eliminate those pesky acne scars from your face, you can also now turn your tomatoes into a paste and apply to your face. All you have to do is mash them up before applying locally. Easy.

For better results, try mixing them with other fruit and veg, such as cucumbers and avocados. Don’t slack, though – make and apply these pastes at least three times a week. Otherwise they won’t be as effective as you’d like.

Aloe Vera

I have a friend who refers to aloe vera as nature’s miracle, and she’s kinda right. Aloe vera really is something of a miracle that can help with so many things, including clearing your face of acne scars.

All you need to do is peel a leaf so that you extract the gel. Then, rub it onto your skin gently, leave it on for 20 minutes before washing off.

Baking Soda

Like egg whites and honey, baking soda is a popular go-to remedy for numerous skin complaints. Just take a teaspoon of baking soda before mixing with 3 teaspoon of water. Then, mix to make a paste before applying it to your face for 10 minutes.

Raw Potatoes

If you use raw potatoes to eliminate acne scars from your face, you’ll have to be prepared for it taking a bit more time than many of the other remedies. However, the results will be plain as day after a few weeks. Moreover, the humble raw potato is the only ingredient you need.

All you need to do is take a raw potato and slice it like you would if you were going to cook it. Then, rub these slices softly on your face in the affected areas. Do this for a couple of minutes, working in a circular motion.

When finished, don’t be in a rush to rinse your face. Let the juices work their magic. After fifteen minutes (or before your friend comes round OMG), rinse your face with water before applying a moisturiser – we recommend coconut oil.

People put cucumber over their eyes because it rehydrates the skin, reducing puffiness. And because it’s pretty much all water, it also helps to eradicate your nasty acne scars.

Olive Oil

Never thought about making an olive oil mask before? Now it’s time to start thinking outside the box a little.

Olive oil treats acne scars so effectively because it contains SO many essential vitamins, including A, D, C, E the B1 and B2’s.

To make an olive oil mask, you just need to drop 2 tablespoons spoons of olive oil in a bowl of warm water. Then, absorb some of the mixture onto a clean towel, before gently massaging your face. Do this for up to 5 minutes before drying the towel a little and then repeating. Your face will feel like new.
