TIP OF THE DAY “HAIR”: HOW TO NATURALLY LIGHTEN YOUR HAIR?

If you want to get lovely highlights on your hair or just lighten them slightly without spending cash in hair dressing salon, here is a simple trick for you:

You can naturally lighten your hair using lemon juice. Yes! Not only lemon juice is great for making smoothies and refreshing cocktails, but also it can help you to get amazingly looking highlights. The final result depends on the initial natural colour of your hair. If you are a brunette, you might not get the desired effect after first application, but if you are a blonde and you want to go a little “blonder”, you can achieve great results very quickly!

Just apply pure lemon juice on top sections of your hair, the same way as you would apply colour to get highlights, and go out in the sun (you can also spray lemon juice all over your hair to get overall lighter look). The UV rays will work with lemon juice and lighten your locks beautifully and naturally. You need to stay under the sun for about 40 minutes, the perfect thing would be if you would just chill on the beach drinking refreshing cocktail covered with good sunscreen :).

After doing it 3 or 4 times you will see amazing highlights which will look super cute and natural. The only thing to remember: you need to apply nourishing hair mask right after the sun exposure, because the sun will significantly dry out your hair, so pay attention to hydrate your hair thoroughly if you are after shiny and healthy looking locks. And yea, don’t do “lemon lightening” too often, never more than 2 ore 3 times a week.

So, try, experiment, and share your results in the comment’s section below.

Stay beautiful!

I tried this trick, but I do it as a final rinse, every time I was my hair!
Don’t spray it in cuts! I learnt this the hard way! 🙂
