9 GREAT REASONS NOT TO CUT YOUR LONG, BEAUTIFUL HAIR

9 GREAT REASONS NOT TO CUT YOUR LONG, BEAUTIFUL HAIR

9 Great reasons not to cut your long, beautiful hair

If only hair were like clothes. Just imagine, you could have a different head of hair every day of the week. You could try something new, decide you don’t like it after all and put it back again and, if you were having a bad hair day, no problem, just go to the wardrobe and put on something else.

Alas, it’s not as simple as that and once you’ve had your hair cut and styled, that’s it, for a while anyway. So, before you have your hair cut short, here are a few things to think about first:

1. Don’t make a rash decision, there is no come back!

We all make spur of the moment decisions sometimes but remember, when it comes to your hair, when it’s gone, it’s gone! When you’re feeling a bit angry or sad, cutting your hair might seem like a good way to bring about change, but it’s best to wait until you’ve calmed down a little before you make your way to the hairdresser. Remember, when it come to hair cut – there is no come back!

2. Cute hairstyles for long hair are limitless

Long hair gives you more options: wear it up, wear it down, to the right or to the left; there are many more things that you can do with your long hair, than you can do when it’s short.

3. With short hair, a bad hair day stays a bad hair day

On days when your hair simply won’t be controlled, you can braid it, you can put in a ponytail or you can put up; as long as it’s still long, you will rarely have bad hair days.

4. Wash and go, yes, but it will be every single day!

One of the advantages of short hair is that you can wash and dry it really quickly but what about the days when you’re really in a rush? Short hair really needs washing and styling every single day, otherwise it can look greasy.

5. Braids are in

Braids are always trendy and they can hide a multitude of hair sins, from greasy to unruly hair, but they are definitely out if you have short hair. It’s up to you to make a choice! 😉

6. Do men like long hair?

Well, according to many surveys, yes, there are many men who would prefer the woman in their life to have longer hair, rather than short. You might say, “It’s dogmatist and they should love us for our personalities”…but, well, men are visual and they love everything that emphasizes our femininity. Ladies with long hair look very feminine to men.

7. It’s cold!

Obviously this depends on where you live, but if you do live in a region where it can get cold, you really can feel that bitter chill around your ears and the back of your neck when your hair is short.

8. Growing out pains

If you do have your hair cut short and then you change your mind, you have that difficult period when it’s neither long, nor short and you’re never quite sure which way to wear it, while you’re waiting for it to grow back.

9. What’s going in a minute, takes years to grow back

And finally, before you let the stylist loose with those scissors, take a moment to reflect on just how long that hair took to grow in the first place. It won’t take long to cut it off, but it’ll take a long, long time to grow it back again.

Conclusion? Well, it’s totally up to you how you like to wear your hair and, despite what some men say, some of the most beautiful women in the world have had short hair. Just be sure that you really know what you want before you start cutting. 😉

Good piece. It is worth highlighting just how critical good hair is to a woman’s appearance. Your hair is the most important controllable aspect of your physical attractiveness other than your physical fitness. As for me, long hair makes me feel beautiful, more feminine and soft.

I think it’s cultural too – i.e., not every culture in the world bases a woman’s beauty on her physical attractiveness, let alone her hair. Beauty is so subjective, so I think it’s a little pointless to try to argue that one should “not cut their long beautiful hair”, as the title suggests. The reality is, it’s hair. You can have long beautiful hair, and an awful personality and soul, and no amount of “beautiful long hair” will make you appealing (at least not to the people who define beauty as encompassing more than hair). I honestly think that if the purpose of the article was to encourage those thinking about cutting their hair short to REALLY think about what it would mean, then the title should be changed. The title makes it sound like cutting your hair short will render you a boyfriend-less, cold, ugly woman (which comes off as a little biased). Just let people do whatever they want with their hair, and honestly, who gives a crap is 90% of men don’t like girls with short hair? Unless you’re trying to marry/date 90% of guys, then it doesn’t matter. Instead, focus on finding a guy who values more than just your hair, because at the end of it all, your hair will be the least of your worries.

Thank you for sharing your opinion Kaitlin, we appreciate this. Of course, it’s important to be loved for inner qualities. We agree on this one 😉

okay so my hair was really really bad when it was long. it was puffy, dry, and broken EVERYWHERE. People teased me about it and of course, I ignored them and told them to go to hell, but it got to me sometimes. After I cut it short… I GOT COMPLIMENTED ABOUT IT. And really it looked better. like 500% better. And lol I like girls so guys idrc. 😉
