3 Homemade hair masks for boosting your natural hair growth

What makes your hair grow faster?… Many girls look for the answer to this question and try to find natural alternatives to salon hair treatments, which can be not only pricey, but also, packed with chemicals. Homemade hair treatments are becoming more and more popular, because they are very effective and totally chemicals free. Today, let’s look at 3  homemade hair masks for boosting your natural hair growth (Feel free to read Part 1 of this article here):

1) Castor oil and coconut oil

– 5 table spoons of castor oil

– 5 table spoons of coconut oil

Castor oil is a very effective natural hair treatment, it can help not only increase hair growth, but also prevent split ends and nourish and moisturize the scalp. Castor oil, by the way, also works wonders for helping you grow thick eyebrows and long eyelashes. This oil helped me to grow back naturally long eyelashes, after I’ve damaged them wearing eyelashes extensions for couple of years…I love applying castor oil daily on my brows and lashes before going to sleep.

Now, back to hair mask: mix equal parts of castor oil with liquid coconut oil (if you don’t have coconut oil you can use olive oil instead) and massage your scalp with it for about 5 minutes (your hair should be dry), then, spread the oil on the length of your hair (for better results, you can put on a shower cup and then, towel) keep the mask on your hair for, at least, 2 hours, but I, personally, prefer to leave it overnight. Then, wash and condition your hair as usual. (You might need to shampoo your hair couple of times to get rid of greasy feel). If you do this treatment regularly (ideally, once or twice a week for couple of months), you will see amazing, beautiful results! Not only your hair will grow faster, but also, your hair will look a lot healthier and shinier.

2) Burdock root oil and mustard

– 5 table spoons of burdock oil

– 2 egg yolks

– 1 table spoon of mustard powder

Burdock root oil is one of my favorite homemade hair treatments! It’s very rich in vitamins and nutrients, this oil can change the way your hair looks almost overnight! When I tried burdock root oil hair mask for the first time, I was blown away by the results! When I first started to experiment with homemade hair treatments, I didn’t know how to create sophisticated oil mixes, so I simply applied burdock root oil all over my hair, on the roots and on the lengths and left it to treat my locks overnight, then, I washed and conditioned my hair in the morning (I shampooed couple of times). On that day, people started to tell me compliments about how shiny, silky and healthy my hair looked (I have blonde highlights in my hair which can be rather damaging…). Burdock root oil can also help you grow beautiful eyelashes and eyebrows, if you apply it daily before going to sleep.

Here is the homemade hair mask recipe with the use of burdock root oil and mustard (well, you can also apply this oil on your hair in it’s pure form, as I explained above, or you can mix it with other efficient ingredients): mix 2 egg yolks with 5 table spoons of burdock root oil and add 1 table spoon of mustard paste (mustard paste should be prepared couple of minutes in advance: mix mustard powder with a little bit of warm water to obtain the paste); apply this mix on your hair concentrating only on the roots, then, you can put on a shower cup and a towel. This mask has a heating effect, it helps stimulate the scalp, thus, accelerating hair growth. It also can significantly improve the thickness of your hair.  Keep this mask on your hair for about 20-30 minutes, but, if you feel that it heats or hurts too much – wash off immediately! This treatment is very effective, but, as you know, miracles don’t happen overnight! You can do this mask once a week for about 7 weeks, in order to see great results (don’t do it more often than once a week, because this hair mask is very intense). Avoid doing this mask, if you have any kind of skin diseases on your head or if you have sensitive skin on your scalp.

3) Sweet almond oil, Vitamin E oil and burdock root oil

– 5 table spoons of sweet almond oil

– 5 table spoons of burdock root oil

– 2 tea spoons of Vitamin E oil

The combination of these 3 oils is very powerful! This homemade hair mask can help you to strengthen and nourish your locks, as well as accelerate hair growth.

Mix sweet almond oil and burdock root oil in equal proportions (5 table spoons of each oil) and add 2 tea spoons of Vitamin E oil; massage your scalp with this mixture and then, spread the oils to the length of your hair. Keep this treatment on your hair for about 2 hours (or you can also leave it on your head overnight for better results). Wash and condition your hair as usual after this hair treatment. You can do this treatment once or twice a week to strengthen your hair and accelerate natural hair growth.

Well, it’s always important to mention that you must make sure that you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients of these homemade hair masks.

I hope you found these hair growth tips useful.
