One day I saw a bob hairstyle in a magazine and decided to go for it! So, I got rid of my long and shiny, at the time, locks and was happy with my new, easily manageable and cute bob hairstyle. But, as the time went by, I started to miss my long, gorgeous hair, just as it happens to most girls, who cut their long strands, carried away by the fleeting impulse of enthusiasm. Now the question is: How to make your hair grow faster?
So, I started to look for answers to this question that many ladies ask. If you are in similar situation, or you just wonder what makes hair grow faster, let’s look at some helpful and effective tips.
Confidence often starts with how we look, and how we look usually starts with our hair. If our hair isn’t quite as good as we’d like it to be, it can have a massive effect on our self-esteem. A lot is resting on good hair.
The rate at which your hair grows is genetic and the average speed of hair growth is about a half an inch every month or about 6 inches per year (1).
You can, however, do things to increase the growth rate of your hair and improve on the thickness and the healthiness of your locks. If you want long and luscious locks of hair, then read these tips and tricks on how to make your hair grow longer, faster and more beautiful.
Here Is What You Need To Know About Hair Growth:
Maintain A Well-Balanced Diet
You may already know that your skin begins to crumble if your diet is poor. What you may not know is that your hair is hugely affected by what you eat and drink, too.
Essential for good hair growth is a diet that is rich in:
- Protein
- Iron
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin B
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
It’s not enough that you get a bit of these micronutrients now and then; rather, you need to try to get as many as you can each day. You can do this by adding the following to your diet:
- Cheese
- Nuts
- Green leaves
- Olive oil
- Citrus fruit
- Fish
You can also consume these nutrients in capsule form, although nothing is better than going straight to the 100% natural source.
Also, for better hair growth, you should consider buying as much organic food as you can.
Be As Careful And As Attentive As You Can
As well as a healthy, well-balanced diet, you should also take good care of your body in other ways.
For example, how you wash yourself can play a key role in determining the state your hair is in. Washing your whole body each day is not as healthy as people think it is; although it’s important to wash your hands a few times each in order to scrub away bacteria that can cause disease, washing your your hair each day is certainly not necessary and can actually prevent healthy hair growth.
It’s also important to note that you can’t just use any type of conditioner or shampoo, but instead need to use a specific type that works for you.
Give Your Hair Some Love
Have you ever massaged your own head? If you haven’t, you really should start doing if you want to see more hair growth.
You can massage your head in the shower with essential oil or conditioner. Massaging it for up to ten minutes before rinsing can promote healthier, stronger follicles. It also promotes blood flow to your head, which in turn leads to a healthier mane.
Brush Properly
If you’re a man, you don’t need to brush all that regularly, but it’s important that women follow this golden rule.
Brushing your hair each day is fundamental if you want to rejuvenate your hair follicles that have been flagging a bit recently. Brushing will also help to stimulate your scalp’s glands which control oil output.
It’s important that you wisely choose a brush which goes easy on your scalp so that it can remove tangles without any hassle. The same goes for a comb. Moreover, you should avoid brushing while wet, and you do not need to aim for the mythological “100 strokes per day”.
How To Grow Hair Faster?
Our daily habits do play an important role when it comes to hair growth, but if you want to speed up the process even more, you need to start using products, such as deep conditioning treatments, protein treatments, supplements and heart-protecting sprays.
You can get hold of deep conditioning treatment products in your local grocery store. They range in price, while there are lots of different brands on the market.
Protecting your hair with heat-protecting sprays is a good idea, too, particularly if – like me – you regularly use a blow dryer or ion. There are various heat-protecting sprays available, and the prices vary according to brand/
If you are suffering from thin or brittle strands, you could try using biotin, which is also known as vitamin H. This has been studied and proven to boost elasticity, which can therefore minimise the risk of loss and breakage.
You can use protein treatment products, too, which can be used either at home or by a trained professional in a salon. It’s key to use a protein treatment that contains magnesium, as well as natural oils as these are particularly effective at promoting hair growth, but we will talk about it later.
Eat Your Vitamins
It’s important to remember at all times that hair grows much better and quicker when you introduce plenty of micronutrients to your diet.
If you eat enough red meat, green veggies, lentils and eggs each week, you are getting enough iron to strengthen your hair follicles. Iron is important because it transports oxygen around your body, which in turn stimulates hair growth.
Zinc is another essential nutrient that strengthens your strands. As well as sculpting healthier cells, zinc also keeps your hormones balanced, which is essential for hair growth. If your thinning strands are linked to hormone imbalance, you need to consume more zinc.
Vitamin D is another key nutrient here, too. You can get more vitamin D from grains, fish, beef liver and mushrooms.
Another nutrient to add to your diet are B-complex vitamins, such as niacin and cobalamin, which you can get from whole grains, eggs, avocados and beans.
A combination of a well-balanced diet, vitamins, minerals and a better lifestyle will all help you to achieve better hair growth. These techniques work for both men and women, but if you’re unsure and would like further assistance on the subject, it’s a good idea to visit your dermatologist to see if there are is an option for a holistic growth regimen.

After the thirty minutes, wash and condition your hair, as usual. You will be astonished with amazing results, especially, if you do this mask regularly, once a week or once every two weeks, during one month or two.

2. Protein is key!
Do you want to know how to make your hair grow faster? Eat protein! Not only our outside beauty efforts, massages and sophisticated hair masks are important, but also, if you really want to have thick and beautiful locks, then watch what you eat! Did you know that food can make a tremendous difference in how fast your hair grows?
Protein provides a building material for your hair to grow quicker, look healthier and be stronger, as protein is the very stuff that our hair is made from, so the more protein you eat, the more your hair can grow. Therefore, make sure to include eggs, nuts, fish, chicken, red meats, etc., into your balanced diet. Eat healthy and your hair will say: ‘Thank you!’
3. Stimulate Healthy Blood Circulation In Your Scalp
Brush your hair every day for 1 or 2 minutes, do it every morning and every evening to stimulate circulation in your scalp. Make sure to massage your head gently, it’s not working by the principle ‘the harder you brush, the faster it grows!’ Gently brushing your hair twice a day for, at least, two minutes stimulates the blood circulation in your scalp and spreads your natural oils evenly over your hair.
Healthy blood circulation is essential for hair follicles to work efficiently and grow new healthy hair. Remember never brush your hair forcefully, especially, when it’s wet, because it can damage your locks and cause breakage. We don’t want this, because we love our hair, right?! Instead, gently brush through your hair with a wide tooth comb or use a special detangling brush for a smooth and pain free detangling.
4. Head Massage
Massage your scalp every time you shampoo your hair (2); do it gently, use your fingers, massage your head for about a minute or two, push and move the skin around your head, and it will stimulate the blood flow in your scalp and help your hair grow faster.
5. Potato Can Help!
Here is another simple hair mask that will help your hair grow faster; for this treatment you’ll need some potato juice! Yes, we know, it might sound bizarre, but it works! Isn’t it the most important?! At least, potato juice smells better, than an onion juice, for example.
Quick note: onion juice hair masks can be really great in helping to boost your hair shine, as well as hair growth, but it smells pretty horrendous, and that smell won’t go anywhere for weeks! This is the main reason why, we don’t suggest you using onion juice masks for hair growth, nor for any other hair treatments!
So, how do we make our potato hair mask? Juice two big fresh potatoes, add a tablespoon of raw honey and one egg yolk. Apply this mixture to your hair (mainly apply it to the roots), wait for half an hour and shampoo your hair, as you usually do. This hair mask is amazingly effective and, most importantly, it’s all natural!
6. Take Good Care Of Your Scalp
Healthy and beautiful hair starts with a healthy scalp…It’s logical, isn’t it? This is why it’s extremely important to take a great care of your scalp.
Here is one easy tip: never apply a hair conditioner to the roots of your hair! Not only it will cause the loss in volume and your hair might get oily very quickly, but also, some hair conditioners contain waxes and silicons and, if you apply them directly to your scalp on a regular basis, it can prevent the skin on your head from breathing and clog the pores.
Conclusion: apply your hair conditioner only to the length of your hair.
7. Warm Oil Massage
If you want more tips on how to make your hair grow faster, try warm oil massage. It’s a very easy trick, but it works wonders! Just heat up a little bit of oil (our most loved oils for this purpose are: Linen oil, Olive oil, Coconut oil, Argan oil and Jojoba oil); never boil the oil, just slightly warm it up, so that it’s pleasantly warm and comfortable to touch, then, gently massage your scalp with this treatment or ask your partner to do it for you.
If you have a friend or, better, a lover, who will give you this wonderful head massage, this experience will become even more pleasant! Ask them to massage your head, gently going through the roots of your hair in circular motions. This scalp massage can last for about fifteen or twenty minutes; then spread the oil on the length of your hair, wait for about half an hour and shampoo your locks thoroughly; you might even need to shampoo your hair twice.
Not only this experience is very relaxing, but also, you will love the result. This treatment works wonders for the hair growth and makes your tresses look very shiny, glossy and healthy, especially, if you do it regularly.
8. Care For Your Hair While You Sleep
Probably, you are wondering: ‘How in the world is it possible to care for my hair, while I sleep?’ Yes, it’s actually as easy, as pie. First of all, never sleep with a tight ponytail or a tight braid, it definitely won’t help your hair grow faster and can even cause breakage of your hair and pain in your scalp.
Make a loose ponytail for sleeping instead. And the second tip for an efficient night hair care is this – try to sleep on a silk pillow case; it won’t cause friction and it’s much kinder to your hair, than cotton pillow covers.
And, by the way, silk pillow case is not only beneficial for your hair, but it also can help prevent facial wrinkles from appearing. What a wonder is this silk: healthy and shiny hair, plus wrinkle-free skin on your face! Just perfect!
9. Castor Oil Is The King Of Hair Growth
How to make your hair grow faster? Try an overnight castor oil hair treatment. Using castor oil on your hair can have astonishing and wonderful effects, this oil is definitely the KING of hair growth (3)! How to use it? It’s all simple: just massage your hair with castor oil before you go to bed and leave it on overnight; then, the next morning, wash and condition your hair, as usual.
Do this treatment once or twice a week for a couple of weeks and you will be astonished by the amazing difference in the health of your hair! It works wonders for hair growth!
Also, castor oil can help you to grow longer lashes and thicker eyebrows, isn’t it a good bonus?!

10. Rinse With Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a great way to remove the dirt, grime and pollution that can accumulate on your hair, as well as strip away the residue that is left by hair products.
Not only apple cider vinegar can help boost your hair growth, but also, being a natural detangling and shine improving treatment, it can tremendously change the appearance of your locks, of course, for better – hair becomes softer, shinier, stronger and looks healthier!
Add two tablespoons of vinegar into a litter of water and rinse your hair with this homemade healthy conditioner; use this treatment as the final step of your shampooing/conditioning routine.
If you aren’t a big fan of vinegar odour (which we can understand), then add a couple of drops of your favourite essential oil into your apple cider vinegar rinse, such as rose essential oil, for example (or you can mix lemon juice with water, in the same proportion, instead of using apple cider vinegar, as it will have similar effect).
Another substitute of apple cider vinegar rinse, that can also make your hair shinier, healthier and stronger, as well as it can improve hair growth – is rose water. Just spray some rose water to your already clean shampooed hair, gently massaging it into your scalp in circular motions. Then apply your regular hair conditioner to the lengths of your hair avoiding the roots, leave this treatment on for a couple of minutes, before washing it off with lukewarm water. Great and simple, but most importantly – it works!

What foods make your hair grow faster? Just like the rest of your body, your hair needs vitamins, minerals and nourishment, for it to be able to grow and stay healthy. You also need plenty vitamin A for good hair growth. Every cell in your body, in fact, needs vitamin A and it also helps in the production of the natural oils in your scalp, so it will stop your head from becoming dry and itchy. Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A, as also are carrots and pumpkin.

Avocados are another great source of amazing, natural fatty acids. Great on their own, with salads or in sandwiches, avocados are packed with the good fats that your body and hair need and, you can always use them in a hair mask too, if you don’t feel like eating them.
5. Oysters – the treasure house of zinc
A lack of zinc in your diet can lead to hair loss and oysters are very rich in zinc, as well as they contain plenty of protein. If you don’t like the taste of oysters, you can also get zinc from fortified breakfast cereals and whole grain bread.
6. Vitamin C rich blueberries, kiwis, limes, strawberries, lemons and oranges
Fresh fruits and berries, such as blueberries, limes, strawberries, kiwis and oranges contain lots of vitamin C, and your hair really does need vitamin C, because it plays a vital role in the blood circulation in the tiny vessels that feed your hair follicles.
With insufficient vitamin C content in your diet, your hair is more vulnerable to breakage. Brussels sprouts are also particularly rich in Vitamin C.
7. Iron, zinc and protein in lean red meats
A lack of iron in your diet can also be a cause of thinning hair. Including lean red meat, such as beef, veal and lamb in your balanced diet will provide you with both protein and the essential mineral – iron.
8. Get your greens: spinach, collards, Brussels sprouts, kale and broccoli
Another good suggestion on how to make your hair grow faster is to include into your healthy diet fresh green leafy vegetables, like spinach, collards, kale, Brussels sprouts and broccoli. All these vegetables are great sources of the vitamins and minerals that are needed for healthy hair growth.
Spinach and Brussels sprouts, in particular, are wonderful sources of beta carotene, iron and vitamin C. All of these vitamins will feed and nourish your hair and promote a healthy supply of blood to the hair follicles.
9. Hair-healthy nuts: walnuts, cashews, butternuts, almonds, macadamia nuts, pecans and hazelnuts
Walnuts, cashews and butternuts contain a significant amount of Omega-3 fatty acids and are also rich in vitamins and biotin. All these nutrients help make your hair grow faster, thicker and longer, as well as to protect the cells of your hair from the sun. Almonds also are very high in biotin.
You can eat walnuts, cashews, butternuts and almonds as a snack, use walnut or almond oil as a salad dressing or as a cooking oil, to reap all the benefits that these nuts have to offer. Macadamia nuts, pecans and hazelnuts are also very hair-healthy, but avoid buying them covered in sugar, chocolate or salt.
10. Protein in lean turkey, duck, emu or chicken
To get all the protein that your hair needs to grow long and thick, poultry is a great alternative to red meat. Chicken, duck, emu and turkey provide all the building blocks that your hair needs to grow healthier and denser, and their meet also contains a good supply of iron and zinc. Hair is almost all protein, so make sure to include protein-rich food in your healthy and balanced diet.
The healthy diet is one of the main ingredients in helping your hair grow faster and thicker, but it’s also important to hydrate your body properly by drinking at least 8 tall glasses of water per day, to help your entire body function at its optimum level. The reasons for drinking water are literally limitless.

More Hair Tips:
One of very important tips for healthy hair is to always be gentle with your hair, because rough treatment can pull hair out or break it. Your hair is more fragile when it’s wet. Therefore dry your locks gently with a towel and avoid rough brushing too.
Another thing to remember, is that hair products might make your hair look great for a short period of time. But in the long run, the more you use them, the more damage you might be doing to your locks. Your hair needs to be able to breathe and to grow. Therefore, the less product you use, the healthier your hair will be.
Your general wellbeing can also influence the rate at which your hair grows, as stress have been found to be a common cause of hair loss (5), therefore it’s important to take care of your general wellbeing and have at least 8 hours of sleep every day.
It’s a myth that cutting your locks regularly will make your hair grow faster. It makes no difference at all! The fact is though, if you trim your hair regularly, it will remove any damaged or split ends early on. In this way the damage can’t spread further up the strands of your hair. This will mean that, overall, you will have to cut off less hair.
And finally, make sure to always protect your hair from harsh weather conditions. Avoid exposing your hair to extreme colds or prolonged direct sun exposure. Protect it but wearing a hat or a scarf.
How to make your hair grow faster? 3 Simple homemade hair treatments that work:
Although our skin is something we are always worried about, our hair care is sometimes ignored. Our hair is a part of what makes us different from others, so, if we don’t pay attention to our hair, everyone around us will! Our hair is one of the most important aspects of physical attractiveness; beautiful and healthy hair transudes vitality, glory, self-worth and confidence. So, instead of spending thousands on expensive clinical treatments, here are some simple and easy to follow homemade hair treatments and remedies that you can make on your own to get a lustrous and healthy mane:
Hair treatment #1: Egg yolk and olive oil can help make your hair grow faster
Being rich in vitamins and minerals, egg yolk can nourish your locks and accelerate hair growth, while olive oil, helps to soften and provide shine to otherwise dry hair. All you have to do is, mix two egg yolks with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. To dilute this mixture, you can add a half a cup of water. By dipping your finger tips into this mixture, slowly massage it into your scalp and then, spread the mask to the length. Let it sit on your hair for about 15-20 minutes, before you wash it off, with or without shampoo. This mask can be done once a week.
Hair treatment #2: Let’s go bananas!
It’s a different thing if we don’t like to eat bananas, just because they are high in calories; being abundant in vitamins A, C and E, this simple fruit can help your hair grow faster, be healthier and softer. So here is what you can do to stay away from those calories – pick up a soft banana that is ripe enough for you to be able to mash it into a paste. (You can also use your blender). Apply this banana paste onto your hair and cover it up with a plastic bag or you can also cover up your head with a warmed up towel for better results. If the paste is not soft enough, you might find it a little difficult to rinse it out during the shampoo. To tackle this problem, you can add a little bit of olive oil or coconut oil into the mixture (couple of table spoons will do the trick). Leave it for 20 minutes, then shampoo and condition. Doing this treatment once a week can be very helpful and beneficial for the beauty and health of your locks.
Hair treatment #3: Castor oil and sweet almond oil to make your hair grow faster
Castor oil is one of my favorite natural hair growth treatments. Mix castor oil with sweet almond oil in proportions 1:1 and gently massage your scalp with this mix, spreading the rest of the mask to the length of your hair. Cover up your head with a shower cup and then, towel. Leave it on your head for about 1 or 2 hours (you can also leave this treatment overnight for better results), then, shampoo and condition your hair. Do this treatment once a week and see your hair grow faster, be shinier and healthier.
Bonus 6 tips on how to make your hair grow faster:
The question: “How do you make your hair grow faster?” is very important, because luxurious, long and healthy locks can tremendously enhance one’s appearance. Well, there is no magic – a lot of it lies in the genes! Nevertheless, there are some really good tips that exist that can help you accelerate your hair growth. Let’s look at some more hair care tips:
Tip #1: Building blocks for hair growth
First of all, it’s important to know that your hair growth is affected by your diet. Protein, for example, is essential ingredient of healthy and consistent hair growth.
When you eat protein rich foods, your body produces amino-acids of which keratin is made and, as you might know, your hair is mostly composed of keratin. Therefore, protein literally gives your body a material or building blocks of which to produce beautiful, healthy and shiny hair; so, make sure you include right amount of protein into your diet. Here are some healthy sources of protein: eggs, nuts, lean meat, beans, products made of soy, fish, etc…
Tip #2: Did you know that fat can be beneficial?!
If you wonder how to make your hair grow faster, check if you eat enough of healthy fat.
Healthy fat is essential for good and consistent hair growth, therefore, make sure to include products rich in essential fatty acids, such as Omega 3 and Omega 6 into your diet: salmon, linen oil, sardines, scallops, shrimps, grass-fed beef, tofu, soybeans, etc…
Tip #3: Zinc and iron
Deficiency of zinc and iron in the body can lead not only to anemia, but also to thinning hair, hair loss and overall poor health.
Zinc helps your body grow new tissue, including your hair, as well as repair it. Sources of zinc include oysters, peanut butter, lean meat, poultry…
Iron helps to carry oxygen to the follicles of your hair, promoting healthy hair growth. Natural sources of iron are: poultry, eggs, lean meat, beans, tofu, soybeans, spinach.
Tip #4: Vitamins for hair growth and thickness
Healthy dose of Vitamin C is important not only for the healthy hair growth, but also, this antioxidant helps your body renew and repair tissues, as well as absorb iron. Vitamin C also helps your hair look healthy and shiny. Natural sources of vitamin C include strawberries, citrus fruits, kale, pineapples, broccoli, kale and peppers.
Also, make sure you include sources of vitamins of B group into your diet. Deficiency of vitamin B can be one of the causes of thinning hair, as well as of hair loss. Vitamins of B group are responsible for the overall health of the hair, helping reduce hair loss, preventing dehydration, adding softness and regulating the production of sebum. Sources of vitamin B are bananas, seafood, lean diary, potatoes, beets, broccoli, peas, lean meats, spinach, oats and whole grains.
Vitamin A can help your hair grow healthier, shinier and softer.
Vitamin E can significantly improve your hair growth, stimulating circulation in the scalp.
If you decide to take vitamin supplements for hair growth, make sure to consult with your physician before taking them. (Overload of vitamins is not good neither!)
Tip #5: What to avoid if you want your hair grow faster?
– Avoid stress by all means, because it can lead not only to hair loss and thinning hair, but also to fatigue, depression and sleepless nights…we don’t want this, right? To avoid stress, try to meditate, exercise regularly and direct your thoughts into positivity.
– Avoid silicone based shampoos, as well as shampoos containing laureth sulphate, because these products dry out your hair, causing breakage and damage. Also, certain studies show that sodium laureth sulphate (SLS) can be linked to skin and eye irritation, organ toxicity, cancer, possible mutations and, even, cellular changes.
– If you wonder how to make your hair grow faster – make sure to avoid tight hairstyles, because those can lead to hair loss, breakage and damage if worn constantly and often.
– Avoid excessive sun exposure, because it can not only lead to premature wrinkles and sun spots, but also UV rays can significantly damage your locks. Therefore, if you know that you will spend a day on the beach, make sure to wear a hat!
– Avoid excessive use of heating and styling tools, if you want your hair be strong and healthy.
– Avoid constantly bleaching and dyeing your hair, as well as permanent hair extensions. All of the above have damaging effects on your locks. If you want to slightly change the color of your hair, go for highlights, instead of uniform hair coloration; highlights are less harsh and, definitely, less damaging for your tresses.
Tip #6: To-dos of how to make your hair grow faster:
– Well, as already mentioned above, make sure to eat healthy and receive all the necessary vitamins for healthy hair growth. Avoid indulging in junk and processed foods.
– Moisturize your hair from within by eating healthy fats, food rich in protein and drinking plenty of water; also, moisturize your locks from the outside, by making nourishing warm oil hair treatments (use olive oil, coconut oil, linen oil, sweet almond oil or castor oil), and do moisturizing hair masks regularly.
For example, weakly oil treatment using castor and coconut oils can help your hair grow faster, healthier and thicker. Massage castor oil into your scalp, and then, spread coconut oil on the lengths of your hair, cover your head with a silk scarf or a shower cup and leave it overnight. The next morning, wash and condition your hair, as usual (you might need to shampoo your hair twice to get rid of greasy feeling). This natural homemade hair treatment will add glossiness and shine, it will simply breath a new life into your locks, making it look shiny, healthy and simply gorgeous! You can also apply castor oil on your eyelashes and eyebrows every evening to nourish them, accelerating their healthy growth.
– Brush your hair well every day and massage your scalp regularly, it will help stimulate your scalp, making your hair grow faster.

This mask will help accelerate hair growth, improving hair thickness and nourishing your scalp.
Use it 2 times a week during one or two months.
4. Fast hair growth DIY mask with mustard and aloe vera juice:
Ingredients:
- 2 Egg yolks
- 3 Table spoons of aloe vera juice
- 1 Table spoon of thick cream
- 1 Table spoon of mustard powder
Mix well all the ingredients (beforehand, add some lukewarm water into the mustard powder to obtain the paste). Massage the mask into the roots of your dry hair, wait for 20-30 minutes, then, shampoo and condition as you usually do. This effective hair growth treatment can be used for any hair type; it will help nourish and hydrate your locks, making your hair grow faster and improving your hair thickness.

Ingredients:
- 3 Table spoons of burdock root oil
- 1 Table spoon of mustard powder
- 1 Egg
Prepare a paste by mixing mustard powder with a little bit of lukewarm water and then, add all other ingredients. Apply this mask on the roots of your hair and wait for about 30 minutes before washing it off. Shampoo and condition as usual. This hair mask is suitable for a normal hair type, it’s very efficient and very simple to prepare.
You can do this mask once of twice a week during one or two months.
6) How to make your hair grow faster using mustard and kefir?
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup of Kefir

- 2 Egg yolks
The preparation of this mask is similar to previous ones: mix mustard powder with a little bit of lukewarm water and then, add everything else. Massage your scalp with this treatment and wait for about 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition, as usual. This mask is very nourishing and can be used for dry and normal hair types. Not only it will make your hair grow faster, but also it will make your locks glossier, healthier and thicker.
Do this mask once a week during one or two months.
7. Here is another variation of fast hair growth DIY mask with mustard and burdock root oil:
Ingredients:
- 1 Table spoon of mustard powder
- 2 Table spoons of Burdock root oil
- 2 Egg yolks
- 1 Tea spoon of liquid honey
Mix well all the ingredients and apply the mask on the roots of your hair. Put on shower cup and then, towel and keep it on your head for about 20-30 minutes, then, shampoo and condition your hair. This nourishing hair mask is very effective for making your hair grow faster and can be used for any hair type.
Do this mask once or twice a week during one or two months.
8. How to make your hair grow faster using mustard and sugar?
Why sugar? Well, sugar will make mustard even more effective. The more sugar you add – the stronger mustard intensity will be.
Ingredients:
- 1 Table spoon of mustard powder
- 1 Egg yolk
- 2 Table spoons of olive oil
- 2 Tea spoons of sugar
Mix mustard powder with lukewarm water, then add all other ingredients. Apply this mask on the roots of your hair and let it sit on your head for about 20 minutes, then wash your hair thoroughly and condition, as usual. This mask can be used for any hair type and is extremely efficient for making your hair grow faster, stronger and thicker.
Do this hair mask once a week for about two months.

Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don’t know what to do. my hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should i do to regrow hair?

Hi Jennie, thank you for your comment. 🙂 I also had similar problems with my hair; unfortunately bad hair dressers can really damage hair, so it’s important to chose the good one who will also care about your hair, not only about money in their pocket. So, as for me, to regrow my hair after it being severely damaged by a hairdresser, I, first of all, found another hair stylist who started to do light highlights on top of my hair, not all over, which look quite nice, but don’t damage as much, and then, of course, I started to use tips that are described in this article, like healthy diet, hair masks, and treating my hair gently while its wet. All these tips gradually helped me to regrow my hair back and now it looks pretty healthy and shiny. Even though there are good hair masks that can help accelerate hair growth, It still takes some time and patience, it just can’t happen overnight, but it’s all worth it! I hope my experience helps you. 🙂 xoxo, Linda

I used to be slim in my high school days, but since college I have been gaining weight, so much so, that I now look bad, and everyone around is commenting on my weight. I did try some weight loss programs but honestly could not stick to any for too long, none of them showed results anyway, and my problem is not solved a bit. Please, please can anyone suggest me a good way to lose weight? Thanks in advance.
Beauty And Tips
Hi Jennie, thank you for your comment. I used to weigh around 10 kg more than I am today, and here are some tips that really helped me lose weight:
1. Never starve yourself, its better to eat a little, but more often, than nothing for prolonged periods of time.
2. Another tip that really helped me lose wight is to start controlling my portion sizes, I just made them smaller, but started to eat more often, like every 3 or so hours, and this helped boost my metabolism and I felt great and energized during the whole day.
3. Another good tip is to cut out all processed foods, such as chips, junk food and all food containing artificial sugar, such as sweets, soda, cakes, etc. As I have a sweet tooth, it was pretty hard for me, but I found an amazing alternative – I eat dates, and sweet fruits instead, and this really helped me in my venture of shedding pounds.
4. Next tip that really helped me is to drink plenty of plain clear water. This is pretty much almost the only liquid that I drink during the day, apart from occasional coffee and green tea.
5. One final tip that helped me lose weight is patience. Weight loss never happens overnight, and it’s only when I adopted this new lifestyle (not a diet), that I could see results over time…
I hope this helps, and good luck 🙂 xx

I have struggled with my hair for a long time now. I am quickly approaching my 40s and I have bad hair quality. Recently, I have also noticed that my hair has stopped growing as it used to. A few years ago I went to the salon on a monthly basis. Now, it takes me almost two months before I even need to cut my hair! I am desperate and I really need help right now. Hair is one of the most important parts of a woman and I don’t want to give up on this one. I went to the doctors but they didn’t found anything wrong with me. The exams I took showed that I am healthy and there’s no reason for this to even happen to me. Please, I really need hair advice urgently!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 things Nancy Harlow.
1. mix in a small bowl – one yolk of an egg with a tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil (or linen oil) and a tablespoon of Vodka (or Cognac). Massage this mixture into the roots of your hair and then, spread to the lengths; wait for about thirty minutes. After the thirty minutes, wash and condition your hair, as usual. Do this once a week or once every two weeks, during one month or two.
2. Instead of going to the hairstylist to get your hair dyed let the dye fade out for a year or two to let your hair get to it’s natural healthy state and try dying it yourself with less toxic things like Kool-Aid or Dye from the store that has all natural ingredients. That is a hell of a lot better for your hair. If you use Kool-Aid heat it over the stove for 10 min. on Med. heat and dip your hair into it. Leave your hair in the Kool-Aid for 5 min. And wash your hair to get the stickiness out. It is okay if whatever color of Kool-Aid you use comes out in the shower because it is just excess solution.

My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some extensions. What should i do to regrow hair?

I regrew my hair and you can too. -I’ve been using hair extensions since forever. My hair wouldn’t grow any longer it would just snap off. I’ve dreamed about having NATURAL thick, long hair. And when I say dreamed, I mean it quite literally. So i decided to do something about it. My friend suggested Biotin when we were talking about my hair loss.
I’ve tried like 4 different brands until i found that the best one for me. Now i’m 26 and I’ve been taking Biotin every day for years. My hair and nails grow SO much quicker. Hair has increased in the rate and are so long now.
Also my energy levels are high. I remember that at the beginning i did heavy cardio and interval training which helped me lose weight fast but i did not realize how biotin played a part in my weight loss until AFTER i stopped working out. I continue to take biotin every day and now that I am no longer on my diet i eat whatever i want and i don’t gain weight. It appears the biotin may be keeping my metabolism to the level it was at during my training. So i highly recommend it to you.

Okay so I am 14 years old and I have been using curling irons, straighteners, and blow dryers and I have been so rough on my hair, is it possible for my hair to be long and thick in maybe three months? and if it doesn’t, than how long does it take?

Hi,
Using harsh chemicals, blow drying your hair regularly will surely damage your hair. It is better to stop using these methods. Hair growth depends on how you take care of your hair and the food you eat. healthy food is very essential for good and healthy hair.

I am in a similar situation as mentioned by the author. I had a long healthy hair. I went for a trim to universal cut and beauty supplies in Burbank , LA. I showed a pic to the lady there called Diana of how I wanted my hair to be. She did just the opposite. She literally chopped off entire length to a bob. I feel terrible now even to go out. I never had this short hair in my life. I am an Indian and my current short hair doesn’t go well with Indian outfits. I have no idea what to do. Please ,someone help me how I can grow my hair faster. It’s been almost a month since I had the cut and I don’t see any difference in my hair.

So you want to know how to make your hair grow faster? Make a wish, go to bed and wake up the next morning with a full head of long thick hair. All joking aside, this is of course only possible with a wig or hair implants. There is still no scientific way to accelerate the growth of hair. But there are a number of ways to stimulate healthy hair growth, as well as a range of conditions that should be avoided if you want your hair to grow faster.
The first and best advice is to follow a healthy diet, it’s especially important to be mindful of what you eat when trying to grow out your hair. Resist going on crash diets and doing other extreme measures when growing your hair out as an unbalanced diet will actually slow the growth of your hair and make it more prone to breakage. You should aim to eat plenty of proteins, and be sure to take in the right hair growth vitamins vitamin B and vitamin C in particular. Adding A multi-vitamin isn’t a bad idea and prenatal vitamins have been known to improve the look, length and strength of hair.

First of all stop crying 🙂 I regrew my hair and you can too. -I’ve been bleaching my hair on and off since I was 30. My hair wouldn’t grow any longer it would just snap off. I’ve dreamed about having thick, long hair. And when I say dreamed, I mean it quite literally. So i decided to do something about it. My friend suggested Biotin when we were talking about my hair loss.
I’ve tried like 4 different brands until i found that the best one for me. Now i’m 39 and I’ve been taking 5,000mcg of Biotin every day for years (10 000 was too much for me). My hair and nails grow SO much quicker. Hair has increased in the rate and are so long now. Dreams come true 🙂

Here is another way to get your hair growing longer. you need to drink 9 8oz of water daily your hair is like a plant it needs water do not put anything in your water must just be water.
Also massage your hair 5 minutes in morning and a before you go to bed do not skip a day.
Also take hair, nail and skin vitamin with Bition in it daily must be taking with food and water so take it at meal time or with a glass of goat milk 8oz goat milk is better for you then cows milk.
use coconut oil in your hair once a week massage it good into your scalp and all over your hair leave it on for 30 to 50 min. Then wash your hair with Goat Milk Shampoo bar.
Goat milk shampoo bar is healthy for your hair and you will never have to buy conditioner for your hair, because it lot softer after using this so.
I get my soap from Midnight oil farms on facebook out of Lebanon, OR using goat soap shampoo you will not need to wash hair daily every other day or once a week depending on your hair type. Eat 1 cup of blueberries daily and 1 apple daily will help your hair grow good.
did you know lots of store bought shampoo has dog fat in it and you would never know this because they use a science name. and dog fat clog the scalp and the scalp can not breath.
so if you do all these thinks your hair should grow longer and thicker also brush hair daily 3 min in morning and before you go to bed.
washing your hair to much take the natural oils out of your hair and your hair needs the natural oils to grow long hair also
Good Luck in grown your hair.

Well, we can’t give you a precise advice here. As we’ve already mentioned in this article, there are several things on which one’s hair growth depends, like healthy and balanced diet, proper hair care and of course genes also play a big role! And, yes, patience is important too 😉

Hi there!! I love these tips and all and definitely think i’ll try out a couple, but being a cosmetologist I do have to say that genes, diet, ethnicity, etc. play a huge part in hair growth. Your hair also goes through different cycles of growth, but there are people who will never have rapunzel hair no matter how hard they try. It’s kind of the same as how most (but not all) colored men and women will not have straight hair. There are the rare cases of them having naturally straight hair but it’s not very common. You can also get a good idea of how long your hair will be by looking into your blood line because again, genes play a huge part as well. Like how every woman in my family has hair down to their butt, I used to have that long of hair before I chopped it off, but I know it can get there again, it just takes a while.

Can someone explain me, why hairdressers comb and blowdry our hair so roughly then?
My mother`s going to the hairdresser who has a big international reputation, she has a wonderful blonde color and haircut but everytime she comes from hairdresser she says: my hair are so poor, they will need two weeks to recover from his rough brushing!
I feel like if you say to hairdresser you want something a bit different than he usually does, it insults him or, he doesn`t do the job so good then.
It`s a complicated relationship!
Julie

Hairstylists ARE rough. I don’t know what their deal is, but it’s like they don’t know how to be gentle with hair, or maybe they think it’s just all about them. I KNOW you don’t need to be as rough as most of them are. In fact, I carry a bottle of Detangling spray if I go in for a haircut, because I can’t afford for them to be yanking on my hair the way they do. That stuff really helps a comb or brush slide through.

Love this! Finally an article that doesn’t claim trimming your hair will help it grow. The protecting at night in my opinion the the most crucial. What most women fail to realize is that the problem is not their hair isn’t growing. It’s that they aren’t retaining length. This is THE KEY to having long hair. Many women sleep with their hair out or on a cotton pillowcase. This is a non-no. It would shock you how much hair breakage the friction of your hair rubbing on your sheets at night causes. I always have my clients sleep on a satin pillowcase with a satin bonnet and their hair tucked up into a high bun. It is my three-fold sleep protective style. This helped me grow my broken off shoulder length hair to my hips.
Hope this helps!

Hello Gaby, thank you for your comment. Well, I personally believe that hair growth depends on many factors such as: whether a person colors their hair or not, healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, and of course, genes…

A note about #3: People with curly hair can’t brush their hair every day or else they walk about with an afro. An alternative is to turn your hair upside down so that it drapes to the floor and massage the scalp, maybe with warm oils if you plan to shower later. The hairbrush is not our friend. 😉

You can slightly warm up castor oil before massaging it into your scalp (but make sure the temperature is comfortable to touch, it shouldn’t be too hot), or you can also apply castor oil directly, without warming it up 😉 We hope this helps 🙂

my hair is naturally curly…hiw do u
brush curly hair once it dries…? it would be a frizzy mess!!!
Beauty And Tips
Thank you for your comment Laurajane. What we mean is that it’s better to avoid forceful hair brushing, especially when your hair is wet, as it can cause breakage; but you can gently detangle your hair with a wide tooth comb or use a special detangling brush for a smooth and pain free detangling. We hope it helps 😉

Awesome tips. Thanks for sharing. Some more tips i’ve been using for making my hair to grow healthy are, 1) Apply onion juice to your roots or bald areas if you have bald spots on your head, onion can activate the hair follicle and make them to grow, not only onion, you can use ginger and garlic also. 2) Massage your scalp with essential oils like rosemary, eucalyptus, etc., these can make your scalp infection free, rejuvenates healthy hair growth and also makes your hair & scalp to spread good aroma. 3) Apply coconut milk with honey to your hair and stay half an hour. Wash your hair as usual, do it twice or thrice a week to get wonderful results. Coconut milk was filled with nutrients which are necessary to your hair. This mask can make your tresses healthy, shiny.
