10 Longest Celebrity Marriages

We humble, ordinary people look up to celebrities for inspiration quite often. Sometimes they inspire us with their talents, other times they inspire us with their perseverance that got them their success. Sometimes we look on enviously and wish we had their blemish-free looks, while other times we simply wish we had their lifestyle and diamond rings.

We don’t, however, wish we had their luck with love and marriage.

In the crazy world of celebrity, stories of true love seem to get hidden underneath the rubble of sham marriages, live on reality TV show proposals and hasty divorces. Whether it’s Kim Kardashian allegedly getting wed in a bid to boost ratings of her flagging TV show, Rihanna getting bashed about by Chris Brown, or Tom Cruise getting divorced presumably because his wife didn’t buy his theory that we were all created by aliens, true love seems to be missing in the topsy turvy world of celebrity.

But because we here at Beauty & Tips believe that romance is far from dead in Hollywood, we’re going to take a moment to celebrate 10 of the best and longest celebrity marriages and find out who is the best at finding a balance between the demands of being a celebrity and maintaining a healthy relationship.

Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne

Most guys who bite off the head of a bat and proclaim themselves to be the Prince of Darkness probably don’t expect to bask in the warm, enduring love of a wife forever and ever, but somehow Ozzy managed to charm Sharon and has been wed to her since 1982.

Sharon will probably admit that being married to Ozzy has its ups and downs, but the fact that they’re still together just shows that true love really can rise above headless bats, drink and drugs, and bizarre reality TV shows.

Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith

This is another one of the longest celebrity marriages. Suave and sophisticated Will Smith met his soul mate Jada Pinkett Smith back in 1990 when they were both youngsters auditioning for The Fresh Prince of Bellair. Although Smith got a part and she didn’t, there was no animosity felt between the pair as true love quickly began to blossom.

They’re still going strong in 2015 and have two grown-up children, Jaden and Willow. The former has even started acting alongside his dad in hit movies, such as The Pursuit of Happiness and flops like After Earth.

Michelle Pfeiffer And David E. Kelly

Dangerous Minds and What Lies Beneath star Michelle Pfeiffer first met her long time beau David E. Kelley after they were sent on a blind date. Pfeiffer was already reeling after her seven year marriage to Peter Horton had ended in divorce in 1988, and the blind date with Dave went so well that the pair married in 1993.

One of the keys to their longevity is that they continue to have regular date nights, which makes sure they find time to spend together despite their hectic schedules. They have two children together, John Henry Kelley and Claudia Rose Kelley.

David Beckham And Victoria Beckham

Football superstar David Beckham was just a shy, unassuming (if gifted) English footballer when he met Spice Girls member “Posh Spice” in 1998. Their relationship caused a sensation in the national and global press, with sources claiming that it disrupted his football form.

The pair went on to marry a year later in 1999 and have been together ever since, with Victoria giving birth to their four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. They divide their time between Los Angeles, Miami and the UK.

Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks first got hitched in 1978, when he was only 21 years-old. The aspiring actor’s first marriage to his college sweetheart lasted until 1987, the same time he met Rita Wilson on the set of Volunteers.

Despite still having feelings for his wife, Hanks had to admit that he was in love with Wilson, and divorced his wife. He and Rita went on to marry a year later, and have two sons, Chester and Truman. Tom and Rita are a fab example of how two busy Hollywood actors can superbly balance their hectic work schedules with their personal lives.

Jerry Stiller And Anna Meara

Jerry Stiller and Anna Meara had basically been married since the beginning of time, until Anna’s sad passing earlier this summer.

Okay, not really, but when these lovebirds got hitched back in 1953 when Stalin was still ruling the Soviet Union, no one had heard of Frank Sinatra, and the first ever issue of Playboy was unleashed on an unsuspecting public, most of whom probably still didn’t even know what nudity was.

Perhaps one of the bonds that kept the lovely Jerry and Anna’s marriage together was that they often worked together, most notably in popular American sitcom The King Of Queens.

Kevin Bacon And Kyra Sedgwick

Kevin Bacon is well-known for playing womanisers and psychopaths, so it might come as a surprise to read that he and the adorable Kyra Sedgwick have been married since 1988 and are still going super strong.

Like many actors who get together, K & K first met on the set of unknown movie Lemon Sky. Although the film has since disappeared off the shelves and into obscurity, the love between the couple has grown and grown, and they tied the knot shortly after in 1988.

Sting And Trudie Styler

Although Sting and Trudie Styler have only been married since 1982, they were an item for ten years before Sting got down on one knee. This means that they’ve been together for almost as long as Jerry and Anna. Almost. Though by the time they did get together in 1972, Frank Sinatra had already retired.

They’re still going strong today and have six children, including Mickey Sting.

Okay, we’re kidding. He’s just called Mickey.

Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan

They always say that women shouldn’t date a guy who is smaller than themselves, but tall Tracy started dating short Michael in 1987 after meeting on the set of Bright Lights, Big City, and they’re still together now.

They married in 1988, and Michael has been suffering from neck ache since 1990 – but says it’s worth it. Ho-ho.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus And Brad Hall

When Seinfeld finished at the end of the nineties, Julia Louis-Dreyfus could easily have disappeared off our radar like all the other cast members. But her recent starring role as Vice President of the USA in smash comedy TV series Veep has propelled her back into the limelight.

Julia and Brad tied the knot in 1987 before Seinfeld was even a thing, and they have preserved throughout both their hectic schedules. Bravo!
