What Is Pumice Stone And What Is It Good For?
What is a pumice stone?
Recently, I was having a lot of trouble with my skin. I had dry skin that just didn’t look as healthy as it once did. It looked like I was ageing – fast.
I’ve used a few skin treatments in the past; some have been effective, some haven’t. But what I hadn’t previously considered was pumice stone.
Pumice stone is an off-white coloured volcanic stone that people (mainly women) use to remove dead skin. It can also be used to eliminate corns from your feet, and is popular in exfoliation treatment and pedicures.
Its aim is to revitalise your skin so that it looks healthly and beautiful again.
I started to use pumice stone and the results were super pleasing. If you’re interested, let’s take a look at what this magical stone is good for.
Pumice Stone Can Improve Your Skin Tone
Skin care should an important part of your daily schedule. In fact, I’d argue that it should be the most important part of your daily schedule. If your skin looks great, you automatically feel great. It is, after all, your body’s largest organ and is HUGELY visible to everyone else. If your skin isn’t looking its best, it’s easy to feel down. Sometimes, I won’t even leave the house!
Your skin tone is important if you want to dazzle and feel amazing, and you can improve it with pumice stone.
Simply massage your body with the volcanic stone each day. Doing so will boost your body’s blood circulation, and will restore your skin’s natural pink tones.
Pumice Stone Can Treat Dry Skin
Dry skin is not nice. I used to suffer with it for a months before I finally found an effective and lasting solution (pumice stone). Dry skin is characterised by itching, scaling, cracking and even bleeding skin that often occurs during the cold wintry months, but which can be caused by any number of factors.
While rooting out the cause of your dry skin is totally advisable, it’s also good to know that there are fantastic solutions available, such as pumice stone.
For this remedy, all you need to do is soak the stone in soapy water before rubbing on the affected areas.
Do this a few times each day until you start to see results.
Pumice Stone Can Treat Cracked Heels
Cracked heels are a bit of a nightmare, aren’t they? Often, they don’t even cause any pain but they still crack open and bleed. They’re want I call the Silent Nuisance!
Also known as heel fissures, cracked heels are a common foot complaint. They occur more frequently during the warmer weather when we walk around wearing flip flops or sandals. And although they don’t tend to cause any pain, they will cause pain and tremendous hassle if the splits get too deep.
Cracked heels can also get infected if left untreated. A fab way to treat them effectively is to use pumice stone.
For this trick, soak your poor feet in soapy water for about fifteen minutes. Then, take your pumice stone and gently massage the affected area.
You don’t need to do this every day. Twice a week should be enough to see results within the month.
Pumice Stone Can Remove Corns From Your Feet
When I was a little girl, my mom always complained about having corns.
“I can’t go shopping today, my corns are too sore!” she’d say.
Naturally, I was a rather insistent child who practically forced my poor mother to take me shopping. When she got home, she couldn’t even walk up the stairs!
I didn’t feel bad. I didn’t know what corns were.
Now, however, I do.
Corns are also known as calluses. They are areas of your skin that have grown too thick with dead skin, and which are now causing a lot of pain. Caused by excessive friction on your skin, corns make it difficult to walk.
My mom never treated her corns with pumice stone, but I recommend that you do. When you get out of the bath or shower, refrain from drying your feet. Instead, rub pumice stone over the affected area. Eventually, the dead skin will drop off.
Pumice Stone Give You Softer Hands
Do we really need soft hands? Yes!
Guys are known for their rugged skin. In fact, they love it. If you’ve ever seen a man proudly showing off how tough and thick his skin is, it’s because he’s happy to be a man who works hard, and whose thickened skin is evidence of his honest toils and labours.
If a man’s hands are not rugged, he’ll make sure to make them rugged!
But we want out hands to feel soft and as young as a puppy’s paws. And pumice stone can help.
All you have to do is wash your hands with pumice stone a few times a week. Doing so will give your skin its softness back. Heaven on a pair of palms!
Pumice Stone Can Remove Blackheads
Eew blackheads. Gross.
I know, I know. Blackheads, which are a distinguishing feature of acne, look awful when they pop up on our face. Darker than white heads, zits and pimples, they are especially unattractive and can ruin your day when one pops up.
And why does a blackhead always seem to pop up on the day of something important?
Got a first date coming up, and a cluster of blackheads pop up!
But blackheads are only temporary. However, they can last a long time unless they nip them in the bud straight away.
Pumice stone is a surefire way of treating blackheads. But when you massage your skin with pumice stone, you should first of all make sure that your skin is nice and soft.
These are just a few ways in which pumice stone can benefit your body and make you feel better about yourself. But there are lots of things you can use pumice stone for, so go and explore!
