How to prevent aging? 8 Natural ways to prevent the appearance of wrinkles

We don’t want to worry you, but wrinkles are not only something that affects the elderly, some people start to develop wrinkles as early on, as their mid-twenties. Stress, smoking, exposure to the sun, poor diet and pollution can all bring about the early onset of wrinkles. If you want to avoid looking old before your time, then now is the time to read our eight tips on how to prevent wrinkles, naturally:

1. How to prevent aging? Avoid the sun

We all love the sun. It cheers us up, it brightens the day and a holiday wouldn’t be a holiday without it. The sun, however, is the biggest cause of premature ageing. The UV rays from the sun are very damaging to human skin and the sun dries out your skin very quickly. Even your day to day exposure to the sun can be damaging to your skin, so if you want to look younger for longer always wear sunscreen, especially in the summer, even just to go to work and avid extended exposure to its damaging rays.

2. How to look younger? Quit drinking and smoking

There is no question that smoking is bad for your skin and it’s not a lot of good for those around you either, so quitting smoking is a good first step to avoiding the onset of wrinkles and worst. Excessive drinking doesn’t help either. Alcohol dehydrates you very quickly, so, if you do drink, drink only in moderation and infrequently.

3. Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water

Just like everything else in your body, your skin needs nourishment to keep it healthy and wrinkle free. There are foods that are particularly good for your skin, but the best advice is to eat healthy, eat more of fresh fruits and vegetables, keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water and eat a balanced diet.

4. How to prevent aging? Don’t over wash your face

A lot of soaps contain some pretty harsh chemicals that can dry your skin out. Try to avoid washing your face with soaps too often during the day and give your natural oils a chance to do their job. The need for constant washing, followed by moisturizing, is probably telling you that you are washing your face too often. Quick tip: I, personally, love washing my face with sesame oil or olive oil: I apply it all over my face, gently massaging the skin in circular motions (yes, I apply it over the makeup to take it off), then I dampen a washcloth with warm water and (gently!) take away the oil together with the makeup from my face. After doing it a couple of times (usually 2-4 times, depending how much makeup I wear), my skin is clean, soft and happy.

5. Massage your face

Massaging your face can help to keep your skin supple and younger looking. When you moisturize, take a little extra time to very gently massage your face with your fingertips, especially around the areas where wrinkles are most likely to appear, like your neck, your forehead and under your eyes. You can either use your regular moisturizer or opt for natural oils like avocado oil, sweet almond oil, sesame oil, coconut oil and castor oil.

6. How to look younger? Make sure that you are getting enough sleep

Lack of sleep is another common cause of wrinkles. Your body needs the time to regenerate itself, so make sure that you get into a regular sleep pattern and avoid drinking too much caffeine, so you can get enough, quality, sleep.

7. How to prevent aging? Try sleeping on your back

The next time you snuggle your face into your nice soft pillow and you feel all warm and cosy, remember that it’s not doing your skin any good to sleep like that. Lying on your face will crumple the skin and bring on wrinkles more quickly, so try sleeping on your back instead. It may take some time to get used to, but it’ll be worth it.

8. How to look younger? Avoid becoming too stressed and be happy instead

Constant stress can cause wrinkles too. You may not be able to get rid of all the stressful situations in life, but you can change the way that you handle them. Worry lines are not just a myth, so try and find some time in the day to relax and just forget your troubles for a while. Relaxing will help you deal with the problems, as well help to avoid wrinkles! Researches show that people who are happy, who smile a lot and have positive outlook on life look a lot younger, than those who are grumpy most of the time and who indulge in mourning and complaining.

Extra tips: Anti-aging natural face masks:

Instead of fighting wrinkles with expensive creams, try some natural remedies, using products that you can find in your kitchen.

– Sesame oil and castor oil mix:

If you have dry, dehydrated skin, try mixing sesame and castor oil in proportions 1:1, rub a couple of drops of this mix between your hands to slightly warm it up and then gently press it into your clean skin, do it every night before sleeping; use tissue to take the excess oil away. Rich in vitamins and nutrients, this natural oil mix is good enough even for caring for the gentle area around your eyes, softening fine lines and wrinkles. Already after a couple of times of doing this, you will see how your skin will transform for better: it will become softer, smoother and plumper. (Before applying oils to your face and neck, make sure you are not allergic, test on your wrist first).

– Oatmeal face mask

If you have normal or dry skin, try doing this facial mask: add some warm water to the tablespoon of plain oatmeal, wait for 5 minutes until oats are completely soft, then add a tablespoon of plain yogurt and a teaspoon of sweet almond oil (or olive oil) and apply this mask to your face for 5-10 minutes, then rinse. Your skin will become very soft, nourished and healthy looking.

– Anti-aging banana face mask

Another great anti-aging facial mask is to mash one ripe banana, add a tablespoon of coconut oil and apply it to your clean face. Wait for the mask to work it’s magic for about 5-10 minutes, then rinse. Your skin will look brighter and feel healthier. Some people love to add honey to banana face mask to add the glow, but if you have sensitive skin, avoid applying honey to your face, as it can irritate your sensitive skin. If you don’t have banana in your kitchen, use avocado plus coconut oil, it will have similar anti-agin, nourishing and hydrating effect.

Here is the list of ingredients that you can use to prepare natural anti-aging facial masks:

Argan oil

Coconut oil

Sweet almond oil

Castor oil

Almond oil

Rosehip oil

Avocado oil

Sesame oil

Aloe Vera

Shea Butter

Cocoa butter

Egg yolk

Green tea

Sour cream

Vitamin E

What I love the most about natural face masks is that you could acctually eat them if you wanted to, which means that your skin will receive all the goodness of natural products with zero amount of chemicals.
