1. Over-exfoliating

And finally, here is another one of wonderful natural oily skin remedies that you can find in your kitchen – it’s mango! This tasty fruit is loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and it is a very effective remedy for oily skin. Not only mango will nourish your skin with its vitamins, but it is also very effective in unclogging pores, removing excess oil and impurities from your skin. Just mash half of ripe mango into a paste and apply evenly to your skin avoiding the eye area, leave it on for about ten minutes before washing off with lukewarm water, and then apply your usual moisturiser.

When you are buying commercial skin care products for oily skin, look for those that contain salicylic acid. They will be much better for your skin type than other ingredients, such as glycolic acid. Salicylic acid penetrates into the skin and gets into the pores, so it does a much better job of clearing up oily skin.
