8 Fun fitness tips on how you can work out as a couple

Working out together is not only good for your body, it’s good for your relationship as well. Couples who exercise together are far more happy and energetic in their workouts, than people who exercise alone, and the shared sense of a challenge and fun brings them closer together as well. Put the fun back into working out by doing it together with these cool tips on how you can work out as a couple:

1. Enter a race together

Set yourselves a challenge and enter in a race together. It doesn’t have to be a marathon, there are plenty of organised 1 km, 5km and 10km races to enter. You can keep each other motivated through the training and, when you reach the finish line together, you can share in the sense of achievement as well.

2. Create a fitness challenge and motivate each other

Set some goals and rewards and you will both find it easier to work towards your fitness targets together. The target could be to lose a certain amount of weight, to lose so many inches from around your waist or to run a certain distance. A bit of competition will make you both work harder and make working out all the more fun!

3. Take Yoga, Pilates or Tai Chi classes together

Yoga, Tai Chi or Pilates class is the prefect way for couples to exercise together, even if they are different levels of fitness. It also comes with the added benefit of teaching you both how to relax together, which is especially useful for those whose lives are a bit too hectic.

4. Walking together hand in hand

Walking is great all round body workout that gets your heart rate pumping without having to be too strenuous. Get into the fresh air and go for a walk or make it more interesting and drive out to the country and take a hike. Walking is an ideal way for a couple to share some time together, talk, laugh, reconnect and share ideas as well, and you won’t be so out of breath that you can’t talk.

5. Take up a two player sport

If you find the gym boring and you want to get a bit of competition into your workouts, then there are plenty of two-player sports that you can take part in with your partner. Racquet sports can be the best, because they give you an all-round workout, so try your hand at tennis, badminton or squash. All of these can also be played indoors, if the weather’s not too good.

6. Take dance classes together, like Tango, Salsa or Waltz

Learn a new skill, while you are getting fit, by taking some dance classes together. You get to spend some personal time together, get in shape and you get to show off your new skills at the next party or wedding that you go to. There are plenty of different style dances that you can chose from, such as Tango, Salsa, Waltz, etc.

7. Indoor or outdoor climbing

If you can’t find a mountain nearby to climb, then try indoor climbing for a bit of adventure and a great workout. Climbing together is a great way to cement the bond and the trust with your partner and tone your muscles at the same time.

8. Picnic in a park and Frisbee

Take your Frisbee, prepare some healthy snacks, find an open space and away you go! The running, throwing and catching, that is involved in working out with a Frisbee, will give you both plenty of laughs and exercise. Ultimate Frisbee is now becoming very popular and leagues are popping up everywhere, so you can even take it up as a competitive sport as well; and after you get tired, you can have a healthy snack and a pleasant quality time with your partner, while eating strawberries and drinking fresh healthy smoothie.

    i read this post very interesting fitness tips and good for health thank you for sharing this as an asset and drink water regularly and especially in the morning before breakfast to clean the stomach.
