10 Fun things to do this weekend

It’s so easy to get into a rut at the weekends. There are probably lots of things that you’d like to do, but they are so expensive, so you end up staying at home watching the TV and then complaining about how there is nothing worth watching on the TV! It doesn’t have to be that way, because there are thousands of things that you could do at the weekend that don’t cost a fortune and will still be great fun. Don’t waste your only two free days in a week, check out these ten great ideas for fun things to do this weekend that won’t put a big hole in your finances.

1. Go fly a kite

Whether or not you have any kids, flying a kite is till great fun. It will get you out into the fresh air and you can have hours of fun watching your kite soar high into the sky. You could even try making your own kite at home. It’s pretty easy to do and there are plenty of instructions on how to make a kite on the internet.

2. Invite the neighbours around for a drink

Another one of simple and fun things to do this weekend is to invite your neighbours, they are probably sitting just a few feet away as bored as you are, so why not invite them round to your place for a few drinks? You might even get a little bit of that community spirit going and get the ball rolling on some more community events in the future. Getting to know our neighbours is always a good idea. You can then help each other out with things like keeping an eye on someone’s home when they are away, or helping out any elderly residents in the neighbourhood who live on their own.

3. Go to a farmers market

You can find some amazing fresh produce at a farmer’s market and it will probably cost you half as much as you would have paid in a supermarket. Look through your local newspaper, or browse online, and you will find a farmer’s market somewhere you near to you. You can wander around the stalls, grab a few bargains, and often, the food stalls give away free samples of their produce too.
