10 Types of Christmas photos you can take with your boyfriend during this holiday season

The Christmas holiday season is a special time of the year and one that can create some very special memories to cherish. It’s also a season that has many amazing photo opportunities, if you can find the time to grab your camera. Make the most of the Christmas festivities, but if you do take some time, you can capture some of those special moments with your boyfriend to look back on them in years to come. Here are ten of the best Christmas photo opportunities that you can take with your boyfriend this festive season.

1. In front of a roaring fire 

This is the perfect Christmas Eve pose. Everything is quiet, children everywhere are pretending to be asleep, but listening for sleigh bells in the snow, and the grownups get a bit of peace before the mayhem of Christmas day. Grab your spot in front of the fire, with a glass of sherry, or mulled wine, and have someone take a photo of you toasting Christmas. If you catch it right, you’ll get the glow from the fire dancing in your glasses and it will make wonderful and romantic Christmas photos.

2. Kissing underneath the mistletoe

You just have to get one photo of you and your boyfriend kissing under a sprig of mistletoe. The age old tradition dates back to an ancient Greek legend and it has now become a firm part of the modern Christmas tradition. It also makes for the perfect happy holiday season photo with your boyfriend too.

3. Playing in the snow

This one will depend on where you live and what the weather will be like, but if you are lucky enough to have a white Christmas this year, don’t pass up on all the wonderful photo opportunities that snow brings. You can have snowball fights, make snow angels, build a snowman, or go sledding down a hill together. Just get out in the snow, have some fun, and snap away with your camera for some wonderful Christmas memories. 4. In front of the biggest Christmas tree you can find

Put on your hats, coats and woolly scarves, and go and find the biggest Christmas tree you can find. Most large towns and cities have a huge Christmas tree that looks really spectacular when they are lit up at night and they make a great backdrop for a memorable Christmas photo.

5. Ice skating

While you are out looking for a big Christmas tree, grab some time on the ice too. The local municipal outdoor ice rink will give more opportunities for some wonderful photos with your boyfriend, especially if one of you can’t skate!

6. Opening gifts

Try and capture some of those moments when you and your boyfriend open your Christmas gifts too. There’s a little bit of the child in all of us at Christmas and no more so than we find out what our surprise gifts are.

7. A Walk in the park

The air is usually crisp and clear at this time year, so you can get some wonderfully romantic photos of you and your boyfriend walking together in a park. Get up early one morning and take a stroll. Even if there’s no snow, there might be a frost, so you’ll get the twinkling star effect of the frost on the trees and on the ground in the background of your Christmas photos.

8. Playing with the kids

If there are going to be kids around this Christmas, either  your own, or somebody else’s, don’t miss out on the opportunity to get down on the floor and help them play with their new toys. The excitement that kids get over Christmas is quite infectious and if you can capture some of that in a photo of you and your boyfriend, you will have captured what Christmas is all about.

9. Welcoming in the New Year

Get someone to take a picture of your New Year’s kiss.  A picture of you and your boyfriend, surrounded by the happy smiling faces of your friends, will be the perfect reminder of how you started off another year together.
